India is trying to regain control with their new cyber laws but the socmed companies are fighting back.

I used to think it was stupid for China to ban international socmed companies but now I totally see why it was necessary.
I wouldn't call it regaining control. Its basically an attempt by Dictator Modi to stifle all forms of dissent . These rules will enable the Govt to go after anyone they want, pull down any content they want. I've had my account banned multiple times just because i spoke out on Kashmir.
Censorship is mainstream in India and funnily Twitter & Fb have been complicit in it . But these new rules are too much even for these pro censorship companies.
Also, China never banned western socmed companies. China simply laid out rules to follow regarding data storage, sharing etc . Most of these companies refused and hence never set shop & many just left.
For example LinkedIn is allowed to operate in China as they agreed to the above rules.

The value fluctuates a lot since it is pegged against the dollar, and the Feds have gone overboard print them, but based on confirmed date from IMF in October 2020:

China was at 14.72 trillion dollars.

India was at 2.71 trillion dollars.

China's economy is 5.43 times greater than that of India's as per latest GDP metrics, which is between 5x and 6x.

However, I don't much like the use of GDP to measure true economic performance. After all, data can be inflated and tampered with. A much fairer comparison would be the life expectancy, automobile ownership per capita, access to clean water/electricity, electronic device ownership, and average income of Tibet vs Arnuchanal Pradesh. After all, both are less affluent areas of each respective country and demographically Tibetan majority :D.

i have yet to see indians working hard to build a better india the way i see Chinese building a better China and returning to the country to make good on achieving the Chinese Dream.
A racist and nationalist will of course have a hard time understand how human progress works. It is not only working hard, and it is certainly not race. It is technology and socio-economic system.

China was very weak and backward in the later 19th and the first half of the 20th century. It was not because the Chinese were not working hard, and of course not because of their skin color. It was because of, in the last analysis, the feudal and capitalist system at the time.

It's not really any one or two things. Just conditions for the result all coinciding.

In what authoritative analysis has it ever been determined to be feudal and capitalist failings in pre revolution/civil war China?

China was weak and backward like India and every other non-European nation was in the 19th and 20th century (first half) because they didn't industrialise. You got that right. It was entirely technology and the organisation of socio-economic-political systems... but again that's too broad. I bet they may have had a chance at making their systems work if technology was no issue.

It was Mao and then Deng which transformed China. Mao politically and Deng economically. If one of them was missing then China wouldnt be what it is now.

IMO India needs its own Mao

Troll spotted. Keeps harping about how all it takes for a society to succeed is a revolution. Nothing wrong with that, but all your posts are basically 'let's have a revolution'.
