Yaa definitely. Why would you praise government you can't control? You would rather praise British empire. Someone else is going to fight colonists & you will always keep demanding rights feeling depressed, oppressed, suppressed on someone else's azz, like the fake Americans. It's very terrifying prospect indeed.

Perhaps they're taking the view that if they just arrest everyone in the Opposition now they can agree with Washington later to lay off the arrests having already intimidated HKers not to stand for election against the pro-Beijing parties at the election.

A bit more detail, those arrested were attempting to paralyze the gov. Their target is to gain 35 seats or more in primary election last year in order to be able to veto the budget. With hope to make sure chief executive to step down.

The persons involved in the case attempted to paralyse the SAR government with a vicious plan after obtaining 35 or more seats in the primary election last year. They desperately vetoed the “Budget”, to cause the Chief Executive to step down and to stifle the government’s operations.
