No opposition morons are not really seen as tradeable bargaining chips.

Once the hammer is down, there is no let up, otherwise all previous efforts would be for naught.

The days when letting up on dissident were used as a bargaining chip or sign or accommodation are over. You are NOT going to see any secretary of state bringing home a bling lawyers.

The last 4 years of Trump has changed everything. China is now a peer competitor, and I don't seem themselves groveling at the heels of power that be in DC for any mediation.

These guys are scum.

35+ was not a plan to enhance self-governance. 35+ was a plan to hold the government at a standstill and actually dare the central government to genuinely crackdown with real force as people's economic livelihoods become threatened.

We already saw a taste of this when these anti-democratic legislators filibustered instead of passing pandemic relief measures that could help alleviate the burden on citizens and small business owners.

Very, very few people participated in these so-called "primaries". Although they tried to copy American conventions/terminology, this has very little to do with democracy.

I know. The idea of the Opposition trying to get a majority in the HK legislative and challenge the government's agenda is terrifying. Legislators should just be there to praise the HK government for doing a good job or correct typographical errors in draft bills.
They're not simply trying to "challenge". They are threatening to block everything. Unless you are a fool I'm sure you'll notice the difference.

To challenge is to question based on reason. What the so-called pan democrats are trying to do is to sabotage the LegCo and the HK government. And no government in the world would allow sabotaging, it's as simple and plain as that.

Are Hong Kong brains exploding trying to figure out which side in the Washington riots they're supposed to support? Let me guess... they support the undemocratic authoritarian wanting to circumvent democracy just because he's seen as more anti-China.

New administration , new paycheck writer. Follow the $$$. The crazyness of calling chinese defender 'wumao' when all of the 'famous' twitter/anti-china people are literally being paid by some organization/think-tank/weapon manufactuer/gov.
