Do we provide a warning every time posts an article or discussion from Global Times or the like? The video is from NTDTV and the TV network's name & logo are clearly displayed.

That was not a warning as a moderator, that was an input as a fellow forum goer.
And no, given that this is SDF, I think the user base here holds the position of Chinese state media to be different from FLG funded media, therefore I think it is is entirely appropriate for posts from such outlets to be accommodated by a clear warning by the poster as well.

And so comes the point I was trying to make: leave the judgments and conclusions to the police and multimedia. I was providing extremely-speculative theories but so was the OP.

Your willingness to express concern over whether the driver's maneuver was deliberate or not deliberate, rather than express outrage at the act of violence clearly documented towards him, is not something that only I have noticed.

tough, even ironic (I mean masked protesters inside a court of law, under the circumstances) if true:

"A man and a woman arrested during the evening were

There's only one member here that I see posts the most articles from the Global Times and he ain't pro-China.

My question was rhetorical. If SDF is so inclined to remain impartial to outlets like the Global Times or sometimes CCTV, which very clearly has a pro-Beijing spin to their content, issuing a warning when using sources from the other side shouldn't be needed. No need to let users know what the OP thinks is biased; let the readers judge for themselves.

Your willingness to express concern over whether the driver's maneuver was deliberate or not deliberate, rather than express outrage at the act of violence clearly documented towards him, is not something that only I have noticed.

My post was a direct response to the OP's attempt to use this man's beating to push a certain political agenda with unsupported claims. I find it interesting that you'd see my point as derailing the narrative when the original post had just as much political flavor as mine.

As I've stated, everybody on this forum feels sympathetic towards the taxi driver and is more or less shocked at what transpired in the video.

There are rumors from witnesses, although not necessarily true, that the driver was speaking Mandarin and was cussing the protesters after ramming into them. Hopefully it wasn't another Charlottesville incident.

Not saying that the driver should've been beaten up at all. But we do need a counterbalance against the similarly-baseless assumption that the driver plowed into those protesters purely by accident or out of fear.

I say that we should keep personal commentary to a minimum and let the police or multimedia do the investigating.

Honestly, I don't really care what you think. But this forum deserves better, so I am going to refute your lies.

Immediately after this incident, Appledaily wrote an article and was posted to a major HK pro-protesters forum. Basically, the article claimed there is an accident and the taxi rammed into pedestrian. In order to save the driver, the protesters broke the car window and pull him out. The taxi driver was injured by the accident not by the protesters. Of course that didn't work since a few videos come out to point out the contrary

That didn't work so they made a claim that the taxi driver deliberately ram into the pedestrians. Look carefully at the video, you can clearly see that the taxi driver side door was forcefully broke opened by the rioters. You can also hear the comment from the video "they are breaking the taxi." I just don't think the taxi driver deliberately ram into the pedestrians.

His name is Cheng Kwok Chuen and have been a taxi driver for many years so it is unlikely that he doesn't speak Cantonese but I don't know why you think it is relevant what language he speaks.

I appreciate your input but you've provided nothing of substance. Refuting the validity of an Appledaily article and using that to argue the contrary view doesn't add to the story of what really happened...just cool your horses and wait for police evidence or more videos.

I see the beginnings of a double standard here; on one hand, much of this forum condemns the unfair portrayal of the HK situation by the mainstream media, and yet are so willing to ostracize Bannon on the basis of the mainstream media having done so before. With all the smoke & mirrors that come on the heels of almost every major political situation or figurehead, it is critical that we give a voice to those who otherwise may be considered "fringe" or "radical".

Bannon is no Devos despite the two having shared the same office roof. But you'd never know that without actually listening to what he has to say.
Bannon had every chance to convince people with what he has to say with the mighty position he was given. I've heard him speak and he seems paranoid, unhinged, and racist (and religion-ist?) and so I've made up my mind independently of mainstream influence. He's not on the same frequency as Devos; she's just ignorant and incapable but that doesn't matter because you implied that holding such a position in Trump's GOP is indicative of capability and it is not. The point is that you said Bannon is relevant because he represents what top US officials think but how can an ostracized man be representative of the agency that terminated him? The mainstream media represents the thoughts of the average American and that's what counts here because you're implying that Bannon is representative. On the other hand, we discredit US mainstream media on things like Hong Kong because what counts here is not what American people think, but the truth on the ground.

It does matter because you and Appledaily will keep changing the stories after getting refuted. Here is another evidence of lies and deception. The rioters have claimed that one of the girls is probably permanently crippled due to the accident. They posted a X-ray picture to all major forums but it is another lie.
