Why aren’t they interested in accepting Hong Kongers in the UK?
Because the UK is now in a crisis that literally cannot take anymore people onto their island nation which doesn’t produce much. Hence they rather have less mouths to feed and also, the uk knows very well that they are on a rapidly sinking ship that have no real able path to recovery that doesn’t involve Chinese aid and thus they are screwed in the near and long term future. The people that are coming from HK are basically people who will not contribute to UK economy only makes things worse

It seems letting Hong Kongers in was just for geo-political purposes. If Hong Kongers are having problems getting situated in the UK as reported, it means the British government didn't really think about the impact and did it without thinking meaning posturing for the world to make it look like they're doing something. The easiest way to stop them looking bad handling people from Hong Kong is to stop them from coming. They already gave a show that they let them in. Now they can indirectly work to bar them including claiming some of them are spies which will put suspicion on all of them.

I think you give them entirely too much credit in assuming they understand any of this.

I think the UK was expecting the top 10% of hong konger in wealth or skills to migrate, instead they are getting a lot of the young / mid age entry level/ blue collar worker folks (as posted by gatekeeper). There mistake was thinking it was going to be 1997 again, in reality, the top 10% can always leave anytime to anywhere if they really needed to in an emergency. There is no real emergency in Hong Kong except that you can't try to overthrow the government. These Hong Kongers and their supporting media makes it out like they are Syrian refuggees (ironically another conflict created by the anglo nations).

This and not only that they are capable of organizing and create a lot of destruction. I can't imaging there being protesters that were promised the red carpet but all they got was a cleaning gig will have some resentment.

I don't pity those ungrateful, scornful, traitors self-hating Chinese of Hong Kong. They weren't forced to leave only to respect and love their country nothing more, nothing less. They instead opted by their own volition to spit at their motherland and embraced the warm bossom of the country that took the city and caused untold damage and sufferings to China. F..k em.

Oh yes, exactly, these used condoms only got themselves to blame. They cried "freedom and democracy" yet they were living in a freest place on earth according to the western "freedom index". There just no pity for stupidity.

Why aren’t they interested in accepting Hong Kongers in the UK?

Because these are low lives. The "better" more educated and wealthy Hong Kongers who wish to leave this "repressive" regime for "freedom and democracy" have already DONE so. Look at Jimmy Lai (how did he obtained his British passport)?

A lot of them, including sadly, my niece's best friend have "emigrated" to Canada. Using money to buy property, and stayed for a number of years to qualify for citizenship, then once qualified. Sold up and return to Hong Kong to work.

So what you see with these latest foreign wannabes are the bottom of the barrel who are not educated nor are they wealthy enough. Oh yes, Boris shout from the top to get headlines, but end up with a thumping headache. But to be fair, this is the wonderful "democratic" system. When Boris opens his mouth, he didn't expect he will still be around long enough to pickup the tab!

Got it in one. But to be fair They are/Will contribute in the lowest way possible. They will be you delivery boys, cleaners of the U.K. economy. Quite sad, as most of them have worked in beter paid government jobs in Hong Kong. But I've no sympathy for them what's ever.

Don't forget, when shitshow Boris announced the measure. He then had to back peddle. The headlines were proclaiming British was magnificent to offered all these used condoms a "home" but the finer prints says it is only extended visa with a provision to allow applications to stay. This of course means they are going to cherry pick the best. And reject the rest.

Exactly. Couldn't agree more. Yes we dint see the same Boris offering to Syrian to stay? And their MSM is going xenophobic with every dinghy that the catch sailing across the English channel. Where's the milk of human kindness then? Its All for show!
