It appears the USG has chosen to deal with the mass unemployment and the deepening recession cum depression with the only method it knows to have worked in the past: War.
Instigating a war, be it in korea or iran is hoped, by America's leaders, in shaking off the malaise in US society and unite the masses as ww1 supposedly united both left and right in many european nations. Effectively, they are hoping to either kick the can down the road (ww1 option) or hopefully re-enact 1945.

What worked back then, isn't going to work this time. The unemployment and shortages popping up are greater then it has ever been, along with the pandemic having advanced so much that any American citizen could be a bio threat on there own. Also to note is the weapons that will be in use in the future are far more destructive then before, meaning that no mass scale invasion isn't going to go without the threat of a hypersonic missile or nuke. Right now, the USA knows that any major engagement with China directly is going to lead to so many people dying and you now as well as I know that the USA doesn't have the greatest unity right now considering they amount of issues they have right now while China is as united as they can ever be now that the USA has all but declared war on them and its now do are die for China not to pushed down again. If Biden wins, then you know he will try a diplomatic solution, none of which is going to handle the main issues in regards to jobs and food/goods shortages while if Trump wins, he will drive his allies away with his haphazard way of doing things. This isn't taking into account they fact no one knows how the election will turn out

The irony is too much. Wanting to compete internationally by representing China, Hong Kong. Yet still harbours separatist thoughts by carrying independence mascot.

What's worrying is he might be one of the archers that injured a policeman with his arrows last year.

If she was staying at the Four Seasons (as she believes is her right), then what grounds do you have for asylum? Her inability to reconcile this dichotomy is typical of the average HK rioter.

The Xinjiang re-education centres are usually cited as a terrifying spectre of full CCP control, yet you willingly check into a German camp.

You say you are prepared to endure hardship, yet when you actually go through it, you ask, “Why do I have to do it?”.

Actually, give her a shred of credit, she’s actually willing to go through that to prove a point.

thanks to idiots like her, a lot more teenage girls might give off those thot signals just to make money given that their stupid protests have chase out investors and firms out of HK that would normally provide them with future jobs. So that person should do the world a favor and catch virus and find out if her previous western inspired democracy is going to save her since it obviously didn't save those Dalai Lama loyalist that went to India with him. Heck even his brother regrets the whole thing

I also believe that's the case. That's why German asylum seekers protested some years ago about being put in camps during winter, because they had nowhere else to go.
