Don’t know if this was posted before. Makes an unsubstantiated claim based on secret recordings between Jimmy Lie and Shih Ming Teh (former DPP member, now trying to promote a more realistic one China framework) that advised Lie on using women, children, and youngsters in protests to make the police look bad.

Though the specific claim can’t be substantiated, it is partially supported by the protesters’ own “marginal violence theory”.

Really shows how well coordinated these “protests” are.

More details of the recent scumbag behaviours emerged. It transpire these thugs/"pro-democracy" politicians planned this along. Video showed they have bought in a sheet of black cloth to cover up their diabolical behaviour, and it's planned with military precision. It's funny that the impartial BBC don't bother showing this!

Talking about child indoctrination. I think if the Hitler youth is still around, they would be very proud of this piece of work.

Maybe PLA snipers should be sent in, target and take out a few leaders of troublemakers, esp those that are already so explicit in showing of loyalty to CIA regime. That will show them that China's sovereignty is not a game you can opt in/out as you want, be prepared to die fighting for what you traitors really believe in. China should also open a programme to allow those who don't see themselves as Chinese national to throw away their citizenship, go join Britain/Japan/US which they love so much.

Thats a terrible idea and exactly how the Euromaidan was orchestrated. Unknown snipers began shooting innocent civilians, which destroyed the legitimacy of the Ukrainian gov and led to the installation of a pro Western regime. It is highly likely that those snipers were Western mercenaries.

I am just glad they are beginning to arrest people now. If they continue doing that, then the movement should subside.

Sounds like a bad idea to me. Its going to further inflame the protesters and may turn supporters away.

China considers bill limiting Hong Kong opposition activity

China’s ceremonial parliament will consider a bill that could limit opposition activity in Hong Kong, a spokesperson said Thursday, appearing to confirm speculation that China will sidestep the semi-autonomous territory’s own lawmaking body in enacting legislation to crack down on activity Beijing considers subversive.

Zhang Yesui said the National People’s Congress will deliberate a bill on “establishing and improving the legal system and enforcement mechanisms for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to safeguard national security.”

Such a move has long been under consideration but was hastened by months of anti-government protests last year in the former British colony that was handed over to Chinese rule in 1997. Such legislation was last proposed in 2003 under Article 23 of the Basic Law, Hong Kong’s mini-constitution, bringing hundreds of thousands of the territory’s citizens out in protest.

The proposal was withdrawn by the government but Beijing has increasingly pushed for measures such as punishment for disrespecting the Chinese national flag and anthem and increased pro-China patriotic-themed education in schools. Opposition in Hong Kong’s Legislative Council, however, made it unlikely such a bill could pass at the local level.

The new measures are required by the “new situation and demands” and action at the national level is “entirely necessary,” Zhang said.

Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post newspaper said a draft resolution would be brought before the National People’s Congress on Friday afternoon and voted on at the end of its session on May 28. The congress’ standing committee that handles most actual legislation will then consider the details of the measure, the newspaper said.

A vote at the NPC will add to concerns in Hong Kong’s pro-democracy camp that Beijing is chipping away at the territory’s rights to assembly and free speech that greatly exceed those permitted by the ruling Communist Party in mainland China.

The decision to circumvent Hong Kong’s Legislative Council to enact the security legislation is an “unprecedented and highly controversial intervention,” Johnny Patterson, director of the non-governmental organization Hong Kong Watch, said in a statement.

Patterson questioned whether charities and groups such as his own and Amnesty International could be outlawed as subversive under the legislation.

“A broad-brush interpretation of this law would signal the end of Hong Kong as we know it,” Patterson said.

Zhang’s comments at a news conference came on the eve of the opening of the congress’s annual session after a two-month delay because of the coronavirus pandemic.

something I have to do. But it'll divide the people. Bitterly. Half the men will hate me

Half the men hate you already, Lord Commander. Do it.

You will find little joy in your command. But with luck, you will find the strength to do what needs to be done.

Kill the boy, Xi. Winter is almost upon us. Kill the boy and let the man be born.

Those protesters would never stop their riots. So nothing to lose. As for supporters, they want Article 23 so this is what they have been requesting. At this moment, the relationship between China and the US have sunk to new low so China doesn't care what the US thinks anymore. No more appeasement.

I disagree. While there are supporters of mainland China in Hong Kong, Hong Kong is still a lost cause. The Chinese government has been extremely patient and even gave ground in regards to the extradition bill. In my opinion, I believe force is now increasingly necessary to finally do these two things: 1. Arrest all of the traitors and put them in jail (hopefully the ones in China) 2. Kick out all foreign influence from China to destroy the West's intelligence network in Hong Kong
