If they did, the US won't keep quiet about it.

Either bragging on how futile such run was, or complaining how that was borderline act of war.
Actually, this is not abnormal at all. China does practice simulated attacks on us carriers based on what I have heard.

A lot of these things are quite secretive and am sure we are not getting anything close to the full details

This guys thinks it was also the USS Nimitz also, but way back in Jan/Feb in SCS.

Does this look like an aircraft carrier?

That just looks like a tanker.

I think people are speculating too wildly. If there was any strength as to these claims, we should first have evidence, or lacking that, we should have meaningful detail from credible individuals.

Conducting an exercise like a simulated strike mission is something that is reasonable. Conducting it in a manner that may have had impressive demands for the crew and airbase, sure that is also possible.

But some of the other remarks I've seen being thrown around like overflying the Reagan or surprising them or whatever is additional detail that needs substantiation, and I do not like how this is being signal boosted on other platforms without us first assessing its veracity carefully.

I agree that photo looks like a tanker and details about this recent announcements regarding H-6K is lacking.

I'm just wondering do we have evidence (credible enough for you) that showed China used H-6 previously to expel US carriers before? Photographic evidence of Soviet Tu-16 performing similar close encounter missions to US carriers leads me to believe China can and also will perform similar tasks.

Then at the very least, the DoD can issue a statement that read "nothing happened that day"...

pity any adversary navy captain who has to face 4 or more of these YJ-12 coming his way.
He might have that sinking feeling like the captain of the tragic Titanic on the way down.
