As a newly minted PhD, let me just say, having a PhD doesn't mean you are smart. Many PhDs are clueless outside of their specialty field. In fact, most people can achieve a PhD given the time, guidance, and resources. This guy is a faux outrage machine, plain and simple.
That guy writes for Epoch Time. Enough said. There are no shortage of people in the West that hangs a Dr. in from of their name for vanity. For all I know it could be a gender studies degree from a diploma mill.

One common mistake, perhaps made on purpose, to demonize a rival is to claim that their leaders and their government never cared about the country but only want to enrich themselves and to steel their grip on power at the expense of the people. This is what the US has always said about China. But generally, I don't believe it, especially not as it pertains to highy competitive nations like China, USA, Russia. So I would not make this same claim about Trump; I believe he is a patriotic American who thought that he could strongarm the world and make America so huge and dominant that it wouldn't be any crime at all to take an extra slice for himself. And how he exited was a result of mistakes upon mistakes piling onto each other until it was all a mess and his inner child came out in a disoriented tantrum.

You might be correct if it were not for his past history...

Trump University
Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts
Trump Towers
Trump Steaks
Trump The Game (Later repackaged and rereleased as The Apprentice game)
Trump Shuttle
Trump Mattresses

You think a guy who brands all his business with his own name is NOT primarily out to expand his own personal brand and wealth?
How many more did you want? There's A LOT!
Any benefit for America would have just been a pleasant coincidence for him.

I am correct and I see nothing in your post that makes him unpatriotic. That's the guy trying to run his own business and expand into other markets. Putting your own name on a brand makes you selfish/unpatriotic?? What's a patriotic Trump from 20 years ago supposed to name his businesses? America University? America Hotels and Casino Resorts? America Towers/Steaks/the Game/Shuttle/Mattresses?

Rich old men who can afford anything and everything have one thing left to want and that is a heroic legacy. The last thing they want (or at least one of the last things they want) to see is their nation defeated and relegated by a rival because that turns them from a global apex predator into a big fish in a small pond. A heroic American legacy as the helmsman who defeated China is what Trump wanted to create and for his incompetence, what he ended up with instead was coming within a hair away from being dragged out of office by the national guard amidst the backdrop of a violent animalistic mob enveloping the flaming American capital.

I know your stance is incorrigible, but let me clarify a couple things.

1. No one is questioning whether he is patriotic, the question is whether he is puts himself first above all (@solarz original point)

2. Nothing about these businesses scream patriot. They don’t try to create lasting American jobs, they don’t try to address some of the common criticisms of modern american business vs. The common american worker. It is just him lazily putting his name on anything that comes his way.

As an aside, no one ever named their companies “America Product/Service”? You’d really stand on that hill?

I will now go on (because this is the funny stuff thread)
Trump Home (Furniture)
Trump Taj Mahal (Casino)
