The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council have issued the "Plan for Accelerating the Building of an Agricultural Powerhouse (2024-2035)".
The plan envisages that significant progress will be made in building a strong agricultural country by 2027. Significant progress has been made in the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas, and the modernization of agriculture and rural areas has reached a new level. By 2035, significant results will be achieved in the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas, and the modernization of agriculture will be largely completed. By the middle of this century, China will become a strong agricultural country. Rural areas will be thoroughly revitalized, and the modernization of agriculture and villages will be fully realized.
The plan proposes to strengthen the foundation of food security in all aspects to ensure that the Chinese people's rice bowl is held more firmly and stably; promote innovation in agricultural science and technological equipment in all fields to accelerate the achievement of high-level agricultural science and technological independence; improve the modern agricultural management system at all levels to promote the organic link between smallholder farmers and modern agricultural development; promote the modernization of the agro-industrial system along the entire chain to expand the comprehensive benefits of agriculture; further deepen foreign agricultural cooperation to create new advantages in international agricultural competition; promote the construction of high-quality, business-friendly and attractive livable villages to improve modern living standards in rural areas; promote the integrated development of urban and rural areas so as to reduce the gap between them.
