F-35 Joint Strike Fighter News, Videos and pics Thread

POGO is typical of Mr. Soros left wing hate America "gotcha groups", you really should vet your sources much more carefully.. they are certainly not objective...

Further more if you really believe only 2 of 23 test articles were on the line that day??? I really can't help you????
LOL exactly, what testing of hundreds-billion-worth program it would be if they were "in red" for about half of the time:

should it be true, we'd at some point hear about such Pentagon's achievement, I guess

let's wait and see if I ever quote this post

Oh, no doubt you will quote it again, to be honest there's lots of room to criticize the F-35, F-22, Su-57, Su-35, FC-31, and even the J-20, and if you were an objective critic, and critiqued each of these aircraft honestly, I wouldn't have a word to say??? now would I

but you find the most biased negative source you can find and lift that up as your banner my friend, if you fly their flag, and carry their water, that comes back to your own integrity? the fact that on rare occasions you post some positive new on the F-35 does not negate the damage you are doing to your own honor here on SDF.....

While all 5th gen aircraft are ungodly expensive, no doubt the F-35 is the least expensive of the bunch, particularly when you look at the Su-57 and J-20 and their "batch production", that makes them basically hand built airplanes, no doubt parts have to be "hand fit", just like they were on early F-22's??

So the F-35 offers a lot of "bang for the buck", and it will provide war-fighters a safe and effective platform for taking out SEAD, in spite of your preference for an "observation balloon"??

that's honestly the most bizarre compare I've ever heard on SDF??? well maybe not, but that's way out there in the bushes....

"hot reloads" in that theater, allowing the aircraft to drop back-to-back 1,000-pound bombs on a target in the middle of the Solomon Sea.

Marines from the

and a 500-pound GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided bomb.

Once they dropped the bombs on the target, they returned to the Wasp where they reloaded, refueled and flew back out to hit the floating red blob again. It was the first-ever shipboard hot reloads in the Indo-Pacific region, according to a

news release announcing the milestone.

Or as Chief Warrant Officer 3 Daniel Sallese put it, they showed how Marines operating in the theater can now "rain destruction like never before."

"Our skilled controllers and pilots, combined with these systems, take the 31st [Marine Expeditionary Unit] to the next level," he said in a statement. "... My ordnance team proved efficiency with these operations, and I couldn't be prouder of them."

The aircraft, which are assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced) and

with the MEU, also fired the GAU-22 cannon during the exercise. The four-barrel 25mm system is carried in an external pod on the Marines' F-35 variant.

The F-35Bs weren't the only aircraft engaging the "killer tomato" during the live-fire exercise.

aircraft and

helicopters also fired at the mock target.

The 31st MEU was the first Marine expeditionary unit to deploy with the F-35B. The aircraft has since had its first combat deployment to the Middle East, where it dropped bombs on Islamic State and Taliban militants.

Air Force Tests How Quickly, Nimbly It Can Deploy F-35 in 'Agile Lightning'

As part of the U.S.

's effort to improve how it prepares to deploy at a moment's notice, the service earlier this month tested how swiftly it could move its premier stealth fighter to a forward operating location in the Middle East.

During an exercise called "Agile Lightning," held Aug. 4-7, airmen assigned to the 4th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron of the 388th Fighter Wing at

to an undisclosed location in the Middle East to train in an austere environment with the

, according to a service news release.

"By executing the adaptive basing concepts we have only practiced at home until now, we increased the readiness, survivability and lethality of the

in a combat theater," said Lt. Col. Joshua Arki, 4th EFS commander.

"The 'Fightin' Fuujins' of the 4th EFS successfully deployed a small detachment of aircraft and personnel to a forward location, supporting combat operations from that location for a given period of time, and then re-deployed back to our primary operating location," Arki said in the release.

The 4th EFS and the 380th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron are both assigned to Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, and temporarily deployed to the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, Southwest Asia, according to the release.

The Air Force did not say how many F-35 Lightning IIs deployed to the forward operating base; the contingent was part of the service's first-ever deployment of the F-35A variant to the region. The jets first deployed to Al Dhafra in April.

"We were able to safely bring the jets and people here to continue supporting operations with a hundred percent mission effectiveness," said Capt. "Cheque," a 4th EFS pilot identified only by call sign in the release.

"We were also able to gather lessons learned for untethered operations within the [area of responsibility], so that we can more quickly and

in the future," the captain said.

The service has said for years that much of the work needed to prepare bases abroad to accommodate the fifth-generation fighter jets, made by Lockheed Martin, comes down to the different processes for maintaining stealth technology on the aircraft.

The squadrons worked to secure the proper "logistics, munitions, force support, communications [and] air mobility," as well as to maintain secure, open channels with the Combined Air Operations Center at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar needed to execute the exercise, officials said in the release.

cargo aircraft and

refueling tankers and their respective squadrons also supported the exercise, according to photos published with the release.

The exercise was just the start of a larger initiative for U.S. aircraft practicing shorter, coordinated deployments.

The head of Air Force Global Strike Command in the spring said that the service is planning more, shorter strategic bomber rotations to test its agility in deploying its heavy aircraft forces around the world.

"I am focused a lot on a different operational mentality in the command, to think about great power competition," Gen. Timothy Ray told reporters during a Defense Writers Group breakfast in Washington, D.C., in April. "I think that signals a little bit more of the dynamic approach that we're going to take."
sounded like a success story

No way! you're just teasing us, pretending to "like" the F-35A temporary detachment success story, when we get all excited and pumped up, then you are going to turn back into "bad Jura", LOL!
LOL!

there's a thing which still amazes me in this forum:

I'd expect long-time members not to differentiate between 'good' and 'bad' news, but simply follow relevant news;

what's going on is some members are like little boys and sometimes go for me if I post 'bad' news (not just here, also in
Chinese Economics Thread
Russian Military News, Reports, Data, etc.

and other threads; previously of course in
ISIS/ISIL conflict in Syria/Iraq (No OpEd, No Politics)

LOL have to specifically add LCS Thread where years ago an individual said I had "ulterior motif" and at that time I didn't know what's "ulterior"

Scratch another A+ on JEFF HEAD'S report card, no other poster on SDF has been so far ahead of the curve when "calling the shots" and putting the pieces of the puzzle together on the "big picture" in the Western Pacific region!

Well done Jeff, well played and called my friend, we miss your daily input, but it gives me great pleasure to remind people of your continuing contribution to the excellence of SDF!
