For the US, domestic manufacturing or low inflation, pick one. I can't think of a way around it.

But what really disgusts me is this:
"Unlike in lower-cost countries like China, the Q Cells factory is largely automated, with employees almost entirely relegated to maintaining the assembly robots and inspecting panels for defects."
The Author has to add this lie so that the carefully crafted American lie can still fool some idiots.

Yeah, right, solar cells from Xinjiang are all "hand made" by Vyghurs. 做婊子还要立牌坊。You ban the more competitive products from Xinjiang to grow your own industry. Fine, everyone does it and even trade rule allow some protection for domestic industries. But to have the nerve to label it forced labors really gross me out.

I am humanist and want China to work with others to save the world. But in this case I really want China to pass the same law on, say, Texas. Importers need to prove anything made in Texas is not made with forced labor in a Chinese court to sell in China.

To tell the whole truth would be a total indictment of their own system, and that would upset too many people. Hence, the "we suck... but we're still better" lies.

"leading to war" itself isn't a bad thing. Wars are all throughout the human history. Those who are good at war and win the war rule and dominate and those lose the war are subjugated or fail to survive. Aggressive, hegemonic ones who like fighing get better at fighting by fighting more and pacifists who don't like fighinting and avoid fighting will suck at war. If you don't eat others, someone else will, and your enemy will eat you. That's the the way this physical world is. Everything is moved by physical force not moral highground. It's nothing to call imperialism.
Practice doesn't make perfect.

Practice makes permanent.

It is okay, the US can build up their own automated solar panel factories. But, they will not be able to compete due to :

1. Lack of "scale of economies"
2. Greater Distance to Asia, China has the absolute geographical advantage. Unless said American firms set up factories in Asia, which undo the point of providing jobs to Americans.

America is losing out vis-a-vis China in this game of economic competition, because China is the core player in the fighting arena of Asia/Eurasia land mass.

Edit : Hanwha is not exactly an American firm.

To be buried by Trump a second time? I don’t think her heart could take it.
What's more sad is that there is possibility that she could actually run for president again

Biden is an old fossil who will go for retirement or Alzheimer will get him
Kamala Harris has the charisma of a piece of wood (could be less actually...)

So who will step up? The corpo Democrats might have to turn towards Clinton again in order to shut down their progressive wing

By now, after so many things have happened, I am certain that they hate progressives more than Republicans lol

By 1980 the Soviet Union had become a gerentocracy, a clear sign of totalitarian decline. The average politburo member by then was 70 years old. 68 year old Yuri Andropov succeeded the 75 year old Brezhnev, who then died 15 months later of kidney disease. 72 year old Konstantin Chernenko succeeded Andropov, before himself succumbing to disease.

The next leader was a young one, to be sure. His name was Mikhail Gorbachev. The rest was history.

Bad, bad totalitarian gerentocracy. Very bad.

My blood boiled because China represents less than 1% of foreign imports to US after the Trump tariffs on China, yet that article was China China China. US solar is still dominated by foreign imports, almost 30-40% from Malaysia, 20-30% from Vietnam, and other from Asia. Yet this article doesn't mention Malaysia/Vietnam dominating the imports in US. Fuck Western media.
