India is stupidly paranoid with China. They have the tallest mountains in the world separating both countries. What is relatively flat is a wasteland that is easy to patrol from above. Any conventional land invasion by either side is basically condemned to failure.
Seems like an important statement by EAM DrSJaishankar on China: “If you extend your hand, we will extend our hand but if you point a gun at us, we will do the same”

Jaishankar was the one who really swung India to a hard pro anglo tilt, it's a bit rich for this wannabe white man to start accusing others of starting the fire.

I mean Modi is a mini-trump but IMO India took the correct choice to side with the West.

The US has gotten desperate after losing the trade war and lost a lot of face. With India now siding with the West, it has tremendous leverage.

One of the positives is thhat Modi can finally solve his internal political problems by capitalising to nationalism. He can push through major reforms, become dictator like without fearing any sanctions from the West. That's a major win for india

Does it? The US can't even invest to repair its own infrastructure. It is not going to invest in India. Sure, India can be a client state for US weapons instead of Russian weapons but I hardly see that to be in India's benefit to be honest.

With regards to US multinational megacorps investing in India, that has so far proven to be a bust too.

the best way to contain India is to do nothing. India loses to China in all aspects, but it should not be underestimated.

India is big enough to be a punching bag. If it is not possible to take them down quickly, it will make India stronger and when the right time comes, they will counterattack.

China is not afraid of direct conflict with India, but it is better to avoid it, since it is of no practical benefit to China. China doesn't need any response. Let Indians continue their wet dreams ....

Those that believe in a re-set are deluding themselves. This not a "new cold war" between the US and China. This is a battle of extinction by the US against china, like the nazi's against the jewish people 70 years ago. There is a non-remote chance the US will detain the chinese diplomats. The chinese diplomats are risking their lives for their country, and the chinese people do thank them for their sacrifice.

Detaining a Chinese diplomat wouldn't achieve any objective. Therefore, I serious question why people think it is a plausible scenario in the near future. It is more likely Americans would target Chinese scientists and elites for extralegal arrest and jail.

I think there will be a reset in the relations of China and the United States, and it better happen soon.

The trade war was irrelevant. A few American farmers got hurt and bailed out, and maybe a few Chinese companies had tougher business conditions to operate under. Otherwise, China's trade with the world is at record levels. China's economy is the only major economy growing. That is a stark contrast when compared to the developed world, with zero interest rates for a decade, and the QE, in various locales.

The tech war was essentially 5G and semiconductors. In 5G it is not even close, there is no contest here. In semiconductors, they are still fighting, but this is not a battle China will lose, they might not win, but for sure China will not lose, not a chance.

Then China signs the RCEP and CAI for the future. Those two agreements are not diplomatic wins for the United States.

These last few years, of China and America, one country is ceding ground, its standing diminishing, and it future prospects may be in doubt with the current economic conditions.

Sure, they can continue the struggle, but sooner or later, maybe you got to cut your losses sometimes, and regroup.

The longer they wait, the more one side will squeeze the balls of the other side.

One side signs the RCEP one month, then the next month the CAI, while the rollout of 5G inside the country continues, while Huawei still the dominant player in worldwide telecom. That is the counter offensive, and that is only just beginning. No reset means more variety, more of the counter offensive is coming.

This has already been done. There were a few reports in June and July in San Fran region and then all the leaks stopped. You think US media would continue to report that kind of shit?
