Is it possible that backchannels between Biden's team and China were used to hammer out a deal in return for recognition?
Not like China had anything to gain from supporting Trump esp. after the circus that was the Navarro/Pompeo/Pottinger team, it's simply remarkable that the MFA would go out of its way to support one team over the other especially when there's such a shitstorm of political intrigue going on over the ballots and Trump replacing military personnel with his loyal followers.

Most major countries and even most US allies have congratulated Biden.

60% of Republicans think Biden legitimately won.

By end of the count, Biden will lead Pennsylvania by 80-100K votes, well outside recount range.

Georgia, Biden leads by 15,000. Good luck finding 16,000 errors in Trump's favor after recount.

Trump can try voter suppression techniques to throw out ballots with tricks like "lack of middle initial, wrong person!" Or "failed to out in ballot envelope within envelope, naked ballot, throw away" or "post marked on election day, must be fake" He needs to flip PA, GA, AZ, NV in his favor to get to 270, which is an impossible order.

Biden also been VP for 8 years and Senator/Politician for 47 years. He has many past deep connections with military and government that rely on to fight back and push Trump out of office if needed.

I think it's China just realizing reality, Biden won, Trump lost, not matter how many sore loser noises Trump makes.

Feel like you guys are overthinking it - China's standard operating procedure is never to interfere in foreign country's domestic affairs. With Sino-American relations on the brink of crumbling, a loud congratulations from President Xi (or any sort of backchanneling with the Biden transition team) would be seen as Beijing interfering into the American election process.... much like how the Russians were accused of stealing the election back in 2016. Case and point - think back to the transition period after the 2016 election when Trump's designated National Security Advisor, Mike Flynn, reached out to the Russian Ambassador.

Quite frankly I think the CCP has done the right thing utilizing State media as well as spokespersons from the Foreign Ministry to congratulate the Biden campaign. Things will get really messy towards the build up to January 20 when the transition of power becomes official, the CCP is better off waiting for the dust to settle before reaching out in hopes of establishing fresh bilateral working relations with the Biden Administration. Top officials from the CCP (especially Foreign Minister Wang Yi) not announcing their congratulations publicly serves to limit the damage for what Trump and his far-right goons can do with what's left of their term in office.

Biden also been VP for 8 years and Senator/Politician for 47 years. He has many past deep connections with military and government that rely on to fight back and push Trump out of office if needed.
Biden isn't as popular and well connected as you might think. The Obama Administration wanted to throw him off the Democratic ticket back in 2012 in favor of Hilary as VP, it only was after the Bin Laden raid that saw Obama's approval rating rise which moved the Obama camp to keep Biden on the ticket.

Speaking of the Bin Laden raid, I know for a fact the special operations community (your JSOC types) aren't exactly fans of Biden and the Democrats. You've only got former Generals and Admirals endorsing Biden because they're politiking for top positions in DoD (Admiral William McRaven hasn't really hidden his ambitions of becoming SecDef or part of a Democratic VP ticket one day), State Department, or foreign ambassador. The grunts on the other hand aren't exactly towing that line of support, all be it they've sworn allegiance to the Constitution and to remain apolitical (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs already stated he won't become involved after that Trump Bible BLM fiasco). Moving back to the political side of things, he's pretty much ready to throw the likes of Bernie, Warren, and AOC off the bus.

Why the Dems wanted to purge Joe? Did they mistakenly believe that Hillary is a vote booster (proven wrong in 2016)?
Biden had a history of gaffs, even after assuming the VP post, undermining the confidence the public had in him (especially as VP serves as president of the Senate, essentially heading POTUS's agenda through the upper chamber of Congress). Hilary on the other hand was seen a team player, earning top marks as Secretary of State, and someone that could've continued Obama's legacy after 2016..... Until Benghazi blew that narrative right off the roof in 2012. So yes at the time it seemed like Hillary would seem a vote booster.

The DEM establishment was quite driven by proponents and Clinton supporters.

It's more of a combination of:
1. Overestimation of how the popularity of Bill can be translated upon Hillary
2. The power politics within DEMs in favor of Hillary.

Hi steel21,

Is the incoming Biden administration a Obama 2.0? and will there be a civil war within the democratic party between the progressive and the establishment? and the Clintons influence within the party had diminished due to Obama? I really like to hear your opinion on this.

Moderate and 'radical' Democrats rallied to counter an 'unelectable' Donald Trump. Now that they've seemingly secured the Executive branch of government, that coalition is slowly dissolving. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has already started throwing shade at the party, and I'm not so sure Pelosi has a clear pathway to being re-elected Speaker of the House. As an outsider looking in, the Democratic party still has Bill Clinton and Obama's ugly stains all over it, while the likes of Sanders and Warren continue their drive to bring the party further to the left.
