Death toll in Xinjiang riot rises to 140

Aboriginies have been badly treated since day one.

The Police and Law enforcement is a pretty mixed bag right across Australia, but some of the terrible ones have shown a remarkable improvement since the '80's
Maybe some improvement but seems like a very long way to go based on this imprisonment rate of very recent 2005. Certainly for the sake of minorities in China, I hope China never adopts such 'laws' towards its minorities.

'...Aborigines are 11 times more likely to be imprisoned than other Australians and indigenous juveniles are 20 times more likely to be detained.'

If you would like to know the truth of the incident, you should do more research, especially you have never been to China, but more research should be multi.

In addition to the above information, if you want more information, I can give to you, including the history of her background, intelligence agents over the years she has been monitoring the movement of absolute evidence.
Most people in China do not know her name, and fewer people know her name in the world, there are many more well-known leader of Terrorism in the Eastern Turkstan terrorist organizations, If China for political reasons, the authorities can blame on many others, without framed on her, accusing her of planning the riots authorities because evidence mastered.
Thankyou for your reply, I have been to China, and intend going back next year again.
IMO the authorities from a PR point of view have handled Kadeer badly after she was released from prison. Just look at the amount of European support she got so I hope they dont repeat the same mistake.

And btw, if everybody is complaining about the evil western journalists making false reports, why are so many journalists denied acces to the areas of interest were they could see the truth?
I was just watching ABC news. Their film crew in Xinjiang was told to stop filming the arrest of Urumqis. They retreated and kept filming. And from a distance you could see the police punching and slapping a Urumqi person. I think female reporter felt threatened.

IMO once a people hit rock bottom as in the case of the Aborigines its very hard to pick your self up. Describing them as very simplistic race would be the PC way of putting it.

I dont think they ever fought back in the same way as the African, American Indian or the Maori, when encountering settlers. In Tasmania the original aboriginies have become extinct, because in the 19th century it was ok to hunt Aborigines for sport. Even as late as 1980's I have seen people wearing T'shirts , humorising that activity.

Typical behavior of the vast majority of western so-call 'journalists'. Most of them are only interested in reporting negative stories on China because there is such a strong anti-Chinese bias in most 'respectable' western news agencies.

They are not interested in finding out what happened. Only to find evidence to support their pre-formed views of what happened.

The only real piece of journalism I have seen from a western reporter on this subject.

The story is harrowing and shocking, and the only thing more appalling is the disinterest the legion of western 'journalists' flocking into Xin Jiang has shown to the suffering of ordinary people and the terrible human tragedy that took place.

Instead, they busy themselves getting in the way of security forces trying to get a 'moneyshot' of police brutality to appease their masters back in the newsrooms.

I had seen more police violence on the streets of London during the G20 protests. Its a joke.

Xinhua News Agency reported Friday that the dead included 137 people -- 111 men and 26 women -- from the dominant ethnic Han Chinese group. The agency says the other fatalities include 46 Uighurs and one man from the Hui ethnic group. Xinhua says the Uighur victims include 45 men and one woman.
Death toll has been raised to 186, my praise to the police and PAP for doing an excellent job of minimizing the riots after they have been erupted, many more Uighurs would have been killed if it were not for the police, and only one Uighur woman killed is an accomplishment to the credit of the police.

The above story was reported on Tv news yesterday. I forget which network. Could have been ABC. Very tragic news item indeed.

Even though I've shown you photos of the Han Chinese in hospitals some of you feel that the news is totally biased against China. Perhaps you are missing something. I just don't understand and may never understand.

This is an initial ABC news report on the situation dated 8 July.

Since so many seem to think that there is some news bias against China I'm going to reopen an old thread about that subject.

As a mod I'm going to bow out of this conversation and stick to posting photos and discussing naval matters.

Apparently many of you see the world much differently than I.

I've moved many post in this thread to here;

http://www.sinodefenceforum.com/members-club-room/western-media-bias-against-china-4-4571.html

If your post is missing it's probably there. Discuss western media bias in that thread.

The police seems to have done well rounding up suspects & preserving peace after the riots but did a poor job protecting civilians during the riots. Even if say 1/4 of the 186 dead were rioters shot by police, the innocent deaths is still too high. If the government is not careful in coming weeks they may find they will face more pressure from all Chinese about the failure to prevent so many deaths than the pressure from any Uighur separatists.
Many 'analysts' I believe have over-analyzed, again, on the reasons for Hu's early return from Italy, like command structure within the government/military. I think it's actually just a simple public relations exercise given the growing anger from Chinese that the police were not tough enough with the rioters.
I think the LA riots caused 50+ deaths. Some factors I think in favor of LA over Urumqi are probably more effective communications media in LA to warn civilians of the riots.
Many poorer Hans live among predominantly Uighur neighborhoods which I think is where many deaths occurred. In LA I think in general there would be comparatively less Whites living in the minorities neighborhoods so less potential victims.

I made a post in this thread wich eventually got relocated to another one by bd popeye. However, I think that at least a part of that post belongs here. So I will repost that part analogously here, hopefully with mod's approval.

These excerpts are take from the article maozedong posted earlier.

Evidence shows Rebiya Kadeer behind Xinjiang riot:

Evidence showed the riot was organized. It was instigated and masterminded by the World Uyghur Congress led by Kadeer

On July 1, the Congress held a special meeting, plotting to instigate unrest by sending messages via the Internet, telephones and mobile phones.

On July 4, some people inside the country began to send out a flood of online posts encouraging people to go to the Renmin Square in Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, to protest on July 5 to support separatists abroad.

At 1:06 a.m. July 5, police in Urumqi were tipped off that some people were putting out illegal information calling for an illegal gathering at Renmin Square at 7 p.m. July 5.

According to recordings of calls, at 11 a.m. July 5, Kadeer said, as she called her younger brother in Urumqi, "A lot of things have happened, and we all know something might happen in Urumqi tomorrow night."
It's bold and weird statements like these that make the whole story unrealistic. Some congress meets, a senior woman makes some phone calls and half way around the world there are riots. That is definite evidence that a 61 year old woman was planing a sophisticated large scale attack half way around the world?

Born in Xinjiang in 1951, Kadeer, a former businesswoman in China, made a fortune illegally from the 1980s on through tax evasion and fraud.

She was sentenced to an eight-year imprisonment in 2000 on charges of illegally disclosing state secrets, and was released on bail in 2005 to seek medical treatment in the United States.
But of course it's not told anymore that she was elected into the peoples congress in '92(?) to act as an example of a problematic minority. As such I would exspect she was checked rather thoroughly. And when she eventually used that position to critizice the government, all of a sudden it was discovered that she commited fraud and espionage and what not.

She immediately got involved with overseas terrorists, separatists and extremists forces there, according to Wang Lequan, Communist Party chief of Xinjiang.
Sure, she went to a different continent and right away introduced herself to a sophisticated terrorist network. Wich she prepared from her cell in a chinese prison.

In addition to the above information, if you want more information, I can give to you, including the history of her background, intelligence agents over the years she has been monitoring the movement of absolute evidence
If you can give us info collected by secret observation on this forum, I don't take that info as credible in the first place.
