Any word on why the Shandong is still at Dalian? After commissioning, the ship should be at it's home port. The only explanation that I can think of, is that the shipyard haven't completed the fitting out process. If that's the case then the commissioning ceremony should have been delayed.

Crew went home for the Chinese New Year. Probably staying at home with this coronavirus thing if they are not ordered to assist in the containment. They should be taking a break. Same with the Liaoning too.

Dalian Shipping Corporation may also have sent people home for the new year. If there is work to be done on the Shandong, there is no one to do it. I don't think whatever they have to do on the Shandong is important enough to miss the new year.

You get the feeling that there are not a lot of people in Dalian Shipyard now. Its a holiday and businesses might be closed by government orders due to the coronavirus.

The ship being constructed on the dock now bears commercial ship colors. You can see more hulls being constructed in the shed nearby. These hulls --- double hulled to be exact --- look more like something to do with the energy-hydrocarbon transport and processing industry.
