Does anyone know if there is a good chance Russia will recognize Chinese vaccines next year? Was hoping they do this year because of their worsening situation and China has so far not donated a single dose of vaccine to Russia which is right next door and could affect northeast China very badly if Russia's situation continues to worsen next year.

Russia has enough vaccines, but there is vaccine hesitancy in russia. The Sputnik V vaccine has been exported widely, and there seems to be more uptake abroad than at home. Practically speaking, it does make sense for both Russia and China to mutually recognize each others vaccines.

Interesting. I take back my accusation then. I never heard of Sinopharm causing this. I know Pfizer is infamous for having this side effect though. However, the WHO did give a warning on this potential side effect:

Who is the vaccine not recommended for?

Individuals with a history of anaphylaxis to any component of the vaccine should not take it.

Anyone with a body temperature over 38.5ºC should postpone vaccination until they no longer have a fever.
Anaphylaxis is an allergic reaction as I understand.
So there are a few possibilities here
1. Unknown allergy of people to an ingredient in the vaccine
2. Contamination of the vaccine at manufacturing point
3. Contamination of the vaccine elsewhere

Only #2 would be considered an issue with the vaccine itself
#1 is a very distinct possibility. How many people have done allergy panel tests?

This is just mind numbingly shocking to learn.

I went to coffee shop to try to do some work in a very liberal us city. Many people around me had loud frequent coughs without bothering to even wearing a face mask and some not blocking with their arms/hands. I moved and people were still coughing... People are just in a combination of bored and selfish that they have to be out even when sick

no need to be so quickly stepping back.

Anaphylaxis is nothing unique to sinopharm vaccine, not unique to mecines either. People can be killed by peanut if they are allergic to it. A person who usually not allergic to anything may suddenly being allergic to something. I myself once got full body rash for unknow allergan, doctor never figured out what was it. It never come back.

For those cases where people suffered, the first questions should be 1) did the doctors screened them properly, 2) are they not aware of their medical history? 3) they may be allergic to something that they have never been diagnosed.

A serious report of such incidents should either keep following up the matter until a medical investigation concluded, or not report it at all if it is not going to follow up. That is yet to be seen.

I don’t know about Vietnam, but in the US, they would ask you a question if you had that allergic reaction before. Id expect Vietnamese doctors to do that beforehand. Otherwise, that’s bad practice and the process needs to be overhauled. Personally, I think it is highly possible that the workers just didn’t know and went with it.

I would also add 4th posssibility that the individual is aware of his/her allergic condition but not knowing (of course) what is in the vaccine, the doctor or nurse did not do a proper screening work.

#1 is quite possible. If a person has never get in contact to ann allergan, he/she would never do an allgergy panel test therefor never know. It is like a "chick or egg first" thing.

US is a very me first country. Police can't even go into someone's home unless they have a warrant. In China healthcare workers can simply go into people's homes without a warrant.
In America, everybody has a "me first" attitude. The private citizen says, "Me first! I have my rights; you can't enter my house without a warrant! Get out, don't touch me!" The police say, "Me first! I'll do whatever the f I want! I'll just turn off my body cam, say you attacked me, then that'll give me proper cause to shoot you, search your house, then plant some weed and of course, find it again."

Russia only made 10 million Sputnik V so far. Far short of what is needed.

Yet the article claims the opposite. It says Russia just finished fulfilling its contract with the Philippines with those deliveries.

There are also at least two other vaccines available made in Russia other than Sputnik V.
Russia has enough production to supply their vaccination demand. The problem is people just don't want to get vaccinated.
They had issues ramping up production initially, especially of the second dose Sputnik V vaccine type, but those have been resolved.
Of course their population is much lower than China so they haven't expanded capacity to the same degree.

Compare Russia's vaccination with Japan's, a country with about the same population and much denser hence easier to distribute the vaccines, and you will see Russian industry managed to do quite well. The health authorities just haven't been able to convince the general population to vaccinate.
