Jeez that is seriously idiotic. India in a New York Times article like 12 months ago that it wanted to be seen as a vaccine superpower and bet big on the AstraZeneca vaccine. Lol. Now Maharashtra is in significant trouble with COVID and it is the economic center of India. I remember watching a YouTube video comparison of India states vs Chinese provinces GDP and Maharashtra was the only one barely capable of competing against any of the Chinese provinces LOL.Super power India failing to live up to its part of the deal to supply vaccines and now AstraZeneca is taking legal measures. SII was forced to halt exports as cases started rising in India due to a massive second wave and multiple mutated strains.
Just few months back Indians were gloating that there will be no second wave and that Covid has been defeated . Such articles were quite common then.
India were more busy in supplying vaccines to countries continents away (just to score PR victories) rather than stocking up themselves.
Now they're facing vaccine shortages . Maybe focus less on Paraguay and more on yourself?
This is what happens when you attempt to be a global player when infact you're not even a regional one. Sometimes i wonder from where does this arrogance/delusion come from?
Everyone wants to be a superpower.
