Yep! All eyes on Israel now since they have the highest vaccinated population. As I've posted above, getting both shots seems to likely get ~98% efficacy, based on a small study of only hospital personnel of 102 people. They are in the process of evaluating all their 7000-plus employees once all of them get their second shots. Hopes are high. As you correctly pointed out, this will be the first real world evaluation done by a user, not the big pharma themselves. My hospital is also gathering data from the field as we speak. Let's see how it goes in a few months. For some reason, my comment was not appearing in that post.
So, 33% protection for the first dose. What would be the efficacy rate like after the second dose, 50%? 66%?
It'll be interesting to know what kind of efficacy rate they'll report after that second dose because this is coming from the user themselves, not the vaccine manufacturer.
BTW, my second shot will be two weeks from now... Some of my clinical colleagues have gotten their second shots. And we are not happy about them showing off their vaccination cards every chance they get. Well, on a second thought, I have posted photos of my vaccination card on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, WeChat, Whatsapp, etc... Guess I'm as guilty as they are...
