I don't think the vaccines were meant to stop the spreading. It reduces the chance. But not stop it. The main point of tge vaccines is to reduce hospital treatments as your own body's defences can cope tie to one has been vaccinated.
That really is a matter of decision and choice rather than being able to or not. If 80% of people get two doses vaccination before the efficacy wanes drastically, the spreading can be stopped. It would not be possible if the vaccination process drags on forever in many countries.

Actually, it does not matter if it is vaccine or lock-down, any measures that are carried out quickly and last long enough would be able to stop the spreading. China's lock-down in 2020 in less than 6 months have proven it.

What the word is doing except China is like trying to fill a leaking bucket, it will never be full.

U.K. Covid rate is increasing again as per today's report. Death rate is also on the up. But the link between cases and hospitalization has been broken according to the government. This is due to near completed vaccinated populace.

Also, with the cases in Nanjing, were the infected fully vaccinated or only partially vaccinated?
Until 27th of July, there were 112 cases in Nanjing. Out of these 112, about 50 are working in the airport. Among these 50 there are people who work for international arrival and domestic. The one who work for international are front line high risk people, the rest are not (just like people working in domestic train and bus). The high risk people should be all fully vaccinated if they don't have forbidden reasons. The rest may not be fully vaccinated or vaccinated at all.

It is highly likely that some fully vaccinated were infected, that is a given. But there is no detailed break-down for now.

UK only has 56% population fully vaccinated, that is far from enough to stop the spread I am afraid. Adding on top of that is the delta variant.

Yes. But this stats don't tell the full story. This 56% are mainly older people. Ie over 30 years of age. It has been found that young people's survival rates are very very high even if unvaccinated.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying the Tories done a sterling job. Far from it. I'm just saying their logic, they think they have achieved near heard immunity.

I think it's bull. I can see us educators teaching again online come Christmas. I hope I'm wrong.

Have any of you wondered why the west, and America in particular have been so pissed about Chinese literally saving the world with vaccines, and been so obsessed with smearing Chinese vaccines that could stop a global pandemic?

Well I think this is a good example of what they were actually planning, and how China easily saw through their ploy and beat them.

Had China behaved like the west, which is what western strategist would have assumed by default, and hogged its own vaccines until it has vaccinated everyone domestically before exporting to other more needy countries, the above headline would no doubt have been that the UK would allow only those fully vaccinated with western vaccines to have quarantine exemptions, closely followed by the US and EU making similar pledges establishing their own little mutually recognised travel bubbles and effectively imposing soft isolation on China.

Because of the success of Chinese efforts to vaccinate the world, that devious plan is stillborn as even within the EU, you have countries using Chinese vaccines, so the EU cannot accept any such travel bubble that will only recognise people vaccinated with western vaccines since that will instantly get vetoed by their member states using Chinese vaccines. The British Indian-made AZ vaccine disqualification only works because of Brexit and the UK having lost its veto on EU decisions.

Without the EU, such a plan is stillborn, as if the US pressed ahead, it will only end up effectively imposing said soft isolation on itself.

Nice, this explains why Canada refused to buy Chinese vaccines.

Chile is doing better and better each day and the MSM can't dismiss this fact which proves Sinovac works well against Gamma, Alpha variants.

Singapore government is just funny. It allows first Sinovac and now Sinopharm for limited use but won't give an emergency approval to include both vaccines in the national program.

The sort of excuse they gave that confused me.

Firstly they cast doubts on the efficacy of Sinovac after giving approval.

Later they claimed it due to the the lack of data on how well sinovac can cope with Delta according to MOH. Delta is a relative new variant and even Pfizer didn't have the complete data that point when they decided to exclude sinovac from the national vaccination programme

Really interesting...

A recent survey showed fairly high uptake of Sinovac by Singaporeans between 25 - 50 (If I remember correctly). About 30% of the available doses.

The desire to import additional Chinese origin vaccines is showing that there is a marketable demand for it beyond Chinese nationals.
Could be a few things at work...

- The highly publicized cases of heart conditions induced by the Pfizer vaccine, with the most famous being the 16 year old getting a full heart attack after a workout leading to the government issuing warnings to not exercise for a whole week after the shot (no such guidance is provided in other countries)

- Rise in breakthrough Delta cases for Pfizer vaccinated individuals which might lead some to try alternatives. Sinopharm seems like one of the most effective non-mRNA vaccines.

Considering how widely criticized the efficacy statistics of the Chinese vaccines are, we have remarkably very little news on any side effects, which probably means there aren't many serious cases.

I'm just gonna say that i would not trust anything coming from India; chances are faecal matter or worse things have been found on products hailing from the subcontinent.

Also, with the cases in Nanjing, were the infected fully vaccinated or only partially vaccinated?

According to Global Times, they were "vaccinated", although 2 or 1 dose is not specified

Assuming authorities can get a handle on the situation, this will be the best test for Chinese vaccines. Because of the ability to do mass testing, we can learn just how effective the vaccines are, how many asymptomatic/vaccinated carriers there are, etc.
