Notice how the QUAD nations can't get public unity on a clearly obvious threat because it's economically painful and the "threat" is not routinely visible? No amount of media hysteria is galvanizing public unity, people don't care.

If they can't even have public unity containing over COVID, don't even bother thinking of containing China.
That's because the Quad is all about theatrics for China's eyes only. This only exposes how it's all show and no substance. Much of everything else they "show" for China is the same.

Some even says "rather die than taking Chinese vaccines".

Let say suddenly China and Vietnam Gov say will have million dose of China Covid vaccine come to Vietnam but then no Vietnamese want to take this includes me. Why because if i say i want to take China vaccine my family will think i crazy and lock me up. Yeah things crazy like this.

Oh why do you hate us so? Wasn't it uncle Ho that said. Rather take a life time of sxxt from the French then take one moment of sxxt from the Chinese? (I might not have got this quote quite right. But the gist is correct). And all the time receiving assistant from China in their struggle against colonialism. Gee.

This is because the US and UK have traditionally been and are number one and number two in the world in exploiting other countries. Just think of America first and the British Empire.

It remains to be seen whether the W.H.O. approval will change Beijing’s approach to doling out vaccines. China has given only 10 million doses to Covax, though it has independently donated 16.5 million doses and sold 691 million doses to 84 countries, according to Bridge Consulting. Many of the donations were made to developing nations in Africa and Asia.
I hope that remains unchanged. For reasonable countries and people, there is no difference in how they get the vaccine, through Covax or from China directly. It is only meaningful to countries playing vaccine politics, to them China should play politics in return. It is better for China to kill the credibility of Covax and whoever it represents for a future world order. It is also better to shake up the orientation of WHO administration. Although WHO under Tedros tried their best to be scientific and out of politics, but it is far from enough, considering that they picked up the Wuhan lab leak non-sense and delaying their approval of Chinese vaccine in Covax program. I am seeing the pandemic as a turning point of shaking up the western dominated world order including UN agencies themselves.

An interesting critique of Biden's Covid Response!

In fairness everyone should bear in mind the guy really has issue with Biden giving some of his other videos, nevertheless did fact check his assertions and they are not wrong

Cost per dose for the Covax is just $1.6 for low and middle income countries. That's why many countries have already signed up with Covax and paid the advanced payment. China should provide the initial 10 million doses. However, China should still prioritize the domestic market and exports to friendly countries.

I understand the main drive is the price. I also wonder what is the price that Cambodia (and many others in Africa) got, considering its percentage of inoculation so far the Chinese price must be very affordable. Also Cambodia is a country that is very representative of many countries queuing the Covax program like Nepal. Or Cambodia is just one of the exceptions that China is willing to lower the price to so low.

Cambodia is paying $10 per dose. China is paying $14 per dose domestically. Other friendly countries could get $10 per dose. It isn't cheap to produce inactivated vaccine especially all those new facilities need to be paid for. That's why China is signing up other countries for filling and packaging factories to lower the cost for other countries.

I see that the price is hugely different. Just talking to myself, I think Countries paying that $10 must be happy that they paid for it, because the $8 extra can and certainly will be earned back if their economy keeps going. I mean even a full month salary would be worth it than the risk of dying or months in hospital earning no money at all.

Covax is only guaranteed doses for 20% of population for each country. So countries are happy to pay $10 per dose to secure other supplies as they still need to inoculate the 80% of population that is not covered by Covax. Pfizer and Moderna are asking for $30 per dose. Sinopharm per dose for wealthy nation is between $18-38 per dose for a fast delivery.

China is subsidizing Cambodia. That is good.
