How and where are they going to land though?
You're looking at a very small ship used for demo with only 125 TEU capacity and 4 containers across its width.
The average container ship can fit 13-24 container across its width.
More than enough space for a modular arresting gear system across ~4-6 container in width

Arguably landing strip could be the easiest to make modular, just need a group of containers with flat top plus 2 arresting gear cable units.

Okay, so the container ship barge clearly has some overlap between different threads:

The UCAV/CCA thread, and the PLA News thread

Can I ask people to be careful about posting on topic replies to each component of the container ship in the right thread please?

I'm guessing either they are disposable, go back to land or get caught by a net somewhere. The recent pictures on the deck of the cargo ship shows how really simple the landing gears are with little on the way of retraction and hydralics mechanism which points even more to the gears just being jettisonable.

Of course, all of it is speculation based on these things not being just mock-ups, in which case nevermind

When you have EMALS everything looks like a carrier

This picture also made me realize why things are colored the way they are. With the gray cab, the emals ramp on here looks just like containers on a deck from a distance (and the CIWS and radar blend in to the background too). So, unless you have drones/air assets or tracked it from the onset, from a distance, this ship isn't going to stick out as abnormal, until you are up close. Clever.

At this pace, given its profound impact to not just PLA but all military watchers and possible insight on shift of perception of future naval warfare by PLAN, I think this container ship deserves its own thread in Navy section, and I have a strong feeling that it is not the end of its "transformations" and there are more wacky things to be displaced on it.

P.S. regarding to the point that if it actually tells anything at all, I don't mean that it can't be info op but there's no way we can definitely say it isn't and therefore it still need to be treated seriously.

I would go farther. I think the actual subject is "Componentized (or Containerized) Weapons". I do not think ships is the only place you will see this.

In future, if you want to make a request for a dedicated thread, that is fine but I would like to remind all members that moderator posts in blue or red text should not be quoted or replied to.
