Of course Russia has allowed the engine to be exported to China, and now Russia is subject to severe economic sanctions and relies heavily on trade with China.
Now that Sino-Russian relations are so important, it can be joked that Putin will shoot any officials who hinder this deal.
Was more talking about exportation of Jl-10 with russian engines. That jet is competing with Yakovlev Yak-130 more or less. Anyway, Russia will probably say yes for that.

Just exporting such a few trainers, the L15 will not be exported too much. Western countries and their vassals will not buy Chinese and Russian trainers, and China cannot export to India, Vietnam, etc. Those poor countries cannot afford high-end trainers. , they are more likely to buy JL9, while the larger market for JL10 is in China, and Russia can sell this type of engine for profit.

China alone has a huge demand for such, much like how China alone gobble up J-11/15/16 series production and worry not of export, as demand by PLAN and PLAAF is substantial as it is.

Even if the contract for 12 L-15U was reportedly finalised only in February 2023, it seems, the production of the first L-15U for the United Arab Emirates Air Force has progressed already so far, that the first aircraft for an aerobatic demonstration team is already flying.

But it doesn't look like from the Al Fursan

Nowadys China is focusing more on flight simulation training, much cheaper than train on real aircraft

I think Blue-Red-White painted L-15U could be the replacement of PLAAF J7 acrobatic aircraft. The color scheme of J7 acrobatic aircraft was initially painted in Red and White, later it was changed to Blue and White.

UAE L-15 have refueling probe.

And if they followed the J10AY or J10Y designation, L-15U may be designated as JL-10Y.

J-10 already replaced the J-7 on the August 1st aerobatics team.

Anyone has any idea regarding nose cone dimension for L-15? Seems like they are quite small compared to FA-50, which restricts size of radar they can install.
