Guys me again ... yesterday this image of a JL-9G + hook was posted by LKJ86 at the PDF and after some search I found it was originally potsed here:

labelled as a FTC-2000G.

Even if this is clearly wrong, the hook attached is what makes it interesting, since after some search on my hard drive I wasn't able to find is ... so is it just a recently posted old image of the JL-6G prototype or indeed a new image??

what do you think?
Noticing the front landing gear, this aircraft is designed for ski jump take off. I really doubt this aircraft has enough power to take off from Liaoning or other aircraft carrier. Call me nut or whatever but I really have no confidence in this aircraft at all.

The JL-9 is oldtech. It is basically a MiG-21 with a redesigned fuselage. Blech.
No fly by wire and a single old engine AFAIK.

Just as a reference, the Tumansky R-13 engine in a MiG-21 has a thrust to weight ratio of 5.4 (wet) while the Al-222 used in the L-15 has a thrust to weight ratio of 5.68 (dry) or 7.5 (wet).
You are basically comparing a second generation turbojet engine with a fourth generation turbofan engine.

If you wanted to emulate a J-15's hardware which plane would you choose? A single engine aircraft with no fly by wire or a dual engine aircraft with fly by wire? Honestly it is no contest.

First sign of large deployment of JL 10 via LKJ86. Training good pilot is as important as building fighter jet. good to have JL10 in operation now

And in contrast to the ones shown above, they all have a radar installed.

On May 9, Hongdu Aviation (HAIG) delivered several JL-10A to the Chinese army. This is the 3rd batch of delivery that the Chinese manufacturer has made in 2019.

This 3-digit number '212' however is strange.

Now Huitong reports this as serial 2x1x, what would fit to a training brigade assigned to the Shijiazhuang Flying Academy

However 212 could then only fit to 2212 - aka the 1. Training Brigade at Shijiazhuang - and IMO the space in front of the 212 looks a bit narrow? ... so more likely 212x, which would then be a 2x2x serial - aka the 2. Training Brigade at Yongji?
