As an important branch of the Han nationality, Hakka is now distributed all over the world, and its roots can be traced back to the Yellow River Basin in the Central Plains. In order to create the brand of "The Origin of Hakka Ancestors", the "Thirteen Dynasties Ancient Capital" Luoyang City, Henan Province officially revealed that the Hakka Origin Memorial Hall and Daguguan Hakka Town Project are expected to be completed in September next year.

According to the "Luoyang Daily" report, on September 22, the third Hakka Culture Forum was held in our city. More than 180 heads of Hakka associations, experts in Hakka culture, and representatives of the new generation of Hakka from home and abroad gathered together. Chang Xugen family friendship.

The report also mentioned that on the same day, the guests also went to the site of the ancient city of Luoyang during the Han and Wei Dynasties, the Central Plains Hakka ancestors moved south to the Holy Land Monument in the Hutou Mountain Forest Park in Yanshi City, etc. Topping Ceremony of Zhiyuan Memorial Hall. The Hakka Origin Memorial Hall and Daguguan Hakka Town Project are located in Shuiquan Village, Koudian Town, Yibin District. The project focuses on “guan, customs, roads, Taiwan, and town” to highlight the origins of Hakka culture. It is expected to be fully completed and put into operation in September 2021. use.

The Luoyang Hakka Origin Memorial Hall and Daguguan Hakka Town Project started in May 2020.

According to a report from Luoyang.com at the time, on the morning of May 25th, the Hakka Origin Memorial Hall and Daguguan Hakka Town Project started construction in Koudian Town, Yibin District, Luoyang City. The Hakka Town project is located in the Wan'an Mountain, 7 kilometers southeast of Yibin District, Luoyang City, just south of Luoyang City in the Han and Wei Dynasties. The project is positioned as the root landmark of the Yellow River culture. Henan is an important part of the Tiandi Zhongheluo Cultural Tourism Zone with the theme of seeking roots and worshipping ancestors. It will build a cultural brand project with international standards and Luoyang characteristics to create the spiritual home of Hakka people in the world. The planned area of the town is about 2 square kilometers, with a total investment of about 683 million yuan, focusing on building "one gate, one pavilion, one road, and one platform".

Among them, the first hall is the memorial hall of the origin of Hakka, whose main function is Hakka cultural display, communication, and service. The Hakka Origin Memorial Hall is located on the east side of Laojiuding Road, covering an area of 2413 square meters. The building is a courtyard-style layout. The east and west side rooms are on the first floor and the main hall is on the second floor. The main function is for the Hakka people to find their roots and worship their ancestors and display Hakka culture. The total construction area is 3189 square meters.

On September 18, the foundation stone of the Hakka Origin Memorial Hall project was laid. According to the "Luoyang Daily" report, the project sits east to west, surrounded by mountains and rivers. It is an architectural style of the Han Dynasty and consists of three parts: the Hakka Origin Memorial Hall, the Surname Cultural Park, and the Enclosed House Style Park. After the project is completed, it will provide all-round services such as root search, cultural exchange, conference business, leisure travel, catering and accommodation for Hakkas and tourists from all over the world.

Luoyang is located in the western part of Henan and the middle reaches of the Yellow River. It is named after being located in the Yangtze River of Luohe. It is a historical and cultural holy city with profound heritage and famous ancient and modern history.

According to the official website of Luoyang City Government, Luoyang, as an important birthplace of Chinese civilization and the starting point of the East of the Silk Road, has 13 dynasties established their capitals in Luoyang in history. It is the capital with the earliest, longest and most dynasties in my country. There are 43 cultural relics protection units nationwide, with more than 400,000 cultural relics in the collection. Luoyang is also the cultural root and ancestral line of the global Chinese. The ancestral home of 100 million Hakkas in the world is here, and 70% of the clan surnames in China originated here.

Hakka, an important branch and important ethnic line of the Han nationality. The Hakka people refer to the Han nationality of the Central Plains who originated in the Central Plains or the Yellow River Basin. Since the Eastern Jin Dynasty, they have moved southward and gradually settled in southern Jiangxi, Western Fujian, and eastern Guangdong. They have begun to become an ethnic group with a "special identity".

According to the "Henan Daily", Luoyang is the most important place for Hakkas to emigrate. Hakkas all over the world call themselves "Haluolang". According to historical records, in the fifth year of Yongjia in the Western Jin Dynasty (311 AD), the Huns captured the capital city of Luoyang. The Han people in the Central Plains left Luoyang City, crossed Luoshui in the south, left Daguguan, and reached the Jianghan Plain along the Luoyang-Nanyang-Xiangyang Ancient Road, which was known as the "South Crossing in Clothing" in history. These people were later the first ancestors of the Hakkas, Minnan people and Taiwan Heluolang.

At the Provincial Cultural Tourism Conference held in May 2020, Henan Province decided to speed up the construction of the "One Belt, One Nuclear, Three Mountains and Five Districts" cultural tourism development pattern, and made it clear to rely on Luoyang Daguguan, etc., with the theme of seeking roots and worshipping ancestors. Heluo Cultural Tourism Zone in the world.
I don't think there is a single root of Hakka, nor a single time of their southward migration. Luoyang is only one of the many. I am afraid that what Luoyang city is doing is a bit of catching attention and manufacturing history for their tourism. If you watch CCTV regularly, you will realize that many provinces and counties are doing similar commercial advertisements that make dubious claims.

Most of the well preserve historic building are in the south maybe because it is sofar away from ravages of war and destruction that happened in the north. Fuzhou has one of the best preserve historic downtown. Xi did make a lot of contribution in preserving the heritage when he was party chief in Fuzhou He recently revisit the town and tour the old city

History and culture are the soul of a city, Chinese President Xi Jinping once said. Click the video to find out how Xi led the efforts to preserve the "soul" of east China's Fuzhou during his tenure as the city's Party chief

Xi: People should cherish the city's historical and cultural heritage as their own lives

Fuzhou's Sanfang Qixiang is actually quite small area. My ancestor has resided there for centuries before some of them moved to more rural part of Fuzhou and some stay behind. Of course, most of my relatives now have migrated to Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada, and the US and some in SEA and Latin America.

Chinese culture is basically based on overcoming flood and building dyke. Western historian doubted the existence of Xia dynasty because no written record is ever found of its existence. I guess it predate writing. But recent archeological find though not a proof but give tantalizing evidence of the existence of civilization around the time line of Xia like large palace was found in Erlitou site. CGTN run a hundred part series of complete Chinese history. I watch most of them but can't find in the CGTN documentary online But somebody did either record it or find it the Chinese version. Here is it part 6 Xia dynasty fascinating look at the origin of Chinese civilization

The sixth episode of Xia Dynasty Searching for Traces mainly tells the process of archaeology searching for the existence of the Xia Dynasty. The central idea is that the Xia Dynasty exists objectively rather than myths. Knowledge points: The first slavery country in the Xia Dynasty. It lasted for about 480 years from 2020 to 1600 BC. Seventeen emperors changed. Dayu was the first emperor of the Xia Dynasty,

Dayu The son of Qi replaced the king of Yicheng and changed the renunciation system of Yao, Shun and Yu to hereditary system. Taikang lost the country, Houyi replaced Xia, Hanjun replaced Houyi, Shaokang Zhongxing revived the Xia Dynasty, and the tyrant Xia Jie was the last emperor of the Xia Dynasty. , Shang Tang replaced Xia Jie to establish Shang;

Erlitou site in Luoyang, Henan (mid-late Xia Dynasty), Xinzhai site in Songshan, Henan (Qi to Taikang), and Wangchenggang site in Zhengzhou, Henan (suspected to be Dayu Yangdu to be verified); Shang Oracle It is the earliest written text. The engraved symbols on the pottery unearthed in Xia are written to be proved. The oldest documents in Shang Dynasty "Shang Shu" and Sima Qian's "History. There are very few historical materials in the Xia Dynasty, and archaeology is the main way to find the source. #中国通史 #夏王朝找 Track

Interesting to see wedding ceremony in rural Shanxi I am struck with similarity to the peranakan wedding ceremony like exchanging gift, combing the hair to signify reaching adulthood, procession. picking up the bride. preparation of wedding chamber. Of course a lot has been lost thru CR and shorten due to modern time. But there is consistency in chinese culture over time and space. the only difference is there is no fighting between bidegroom friend and bride friend in baba wedding I think this influence from modern time.
This lady sister Xia has a cooking show she is a bit plumb but has beautiful big heart and soul for some reason she is popular with Russian speaking fan amazing.

A grand ceremony honoring the Yellow emperor is held in East China. Huangdi is literally the Abraham of the Chinese . All Chinese supposed to be derive from him. Not sure if it true since Chinese is not race but cultural connotation and most likely the result of amalgamation of different tribes in Central China before spreading and assimilating the other tribes in the rest of What is China today.

A grand ceremony paying tribute to Huangdi, or the Yellow Emperor, who is considered a common ancestor of all Han Chinese, is held at the Xiandu Scenic Spot in Jinyun County, Lishui City, east China's Zhejiang Province. The worship for the Yellow Emperor can be traced back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317–420), making it a ritual with a history over 1,600 years. Join CGTN for more at the ceremonial site.

I am moved and speechless after seeing this video. It tell the story of Malaysian Hokkien who trace their root to Yongchun county in Fujian. The first thing that they do is visiting the ancestral or clan temple and update their Jiapu as well giving donation for the upkeep of the temple. They are warmly received by the villager as most of the villager has the same surname.

It is always puzzled me as to why the Fujianese and in general other southern Chinese in SEA are so attached to their hometown transcending time and space. While the Cantonese in US and Australia pay scant attention to their root. I think it has to do with clan association that is so widespread in SEA. They maintain the conduit of information, remittance, donation and clan loyalty tethering to their home town as clearly show in this video They built school, pay for maintenance of ancestral hall

中國福建永春尋根之旅 Tracing Our Ancestors , Fujian China 2019

In the early 20th century, our ancestors had to leave their home country (Yong Chun, Fujian, China) due to wars and poverty. They eventually settled in Malaya (current Malaysia). This year, we decided to go to China, to trace the footprints of our ancestors.

The first 14 minutes of the video will introduce you to some of the tourist attractions in Fujian (Xiamen, Quan Zhou city, the famous Tulou in Nan Jing county in Zhang Zhou, Yun Shui Yao, Ta Xia village, Jin Jiang) and the highlight of the trip: actual visit to my ancestor's hometown (Yong Chun) will begin at
