Chinese Soft Power and Media Discussion and Updates

Chinese infrastructure actually generates soft power in countries passively over time. A commuter of the Indonesia HSR will make positively association with China multiple times a day. China does not spend anything to achieve this.

How many Americans remember or appreciate Chinese labour's contribution in US infrastructure building up in 19th century?

In contrast, the West relies on continuous heavy investment into its media to shape short term public sentiment. Media barrage is all outrage, sound bites and viral headlines that gets forgotten the next news cycle. 30 years after the US-Japan trade war, nobody remembers the public panic and outspoken racism then, but everybody knows the brands Honda and Toyota.

Americans also know the brand of Huawei thanks to US gov,so what?

Did google comply with the Chinese laws? It didn't. Google didn't comply with Chinese laws in the first place so why should it get accessed to the Chinese market. Same thing with other social media companies. They need first to comply with Chinese laws before granting access to the Chinese market.

Irrelevant. Does not change the fact that China has control over TikTok

Another rambling that I don't know what you are trying to say.

vice-versa

Chinese people fighting special interests and granting Chinese market access to CIA google, FB, and Twitter are two different things. Your attempt to put these two things together show me your true intention is.

Your attempt to make Chinese people submit to special interests show your true intention

No, it doesn't. It means everyone else here on the forum you are participating in and can vote with their support on posts. It's tangible rather than the, "Oh Chinese people in China are different from you guys" claim. You can check the Chinese forums too: "Does a creepy foreigner trolling Chinese forums on Google translate have an authentic Chinese experience?" The political forums will give you the finger and the other ones will ignore it because they have no idea what that that bullcrap is even about. But that's apparently where you want to be, right?

Aren't you the one who claim that Chinese people in China are different from you guys"?You just said that the mass of Chinese ranks are "insufficiently educated",and the oversea Chinese are the one "who really knows the country"

And apparently every other member here because this is a defense forum, which is the backbone to politics. Didn't know you were here to talk about random other things. Maybe mind the forum name next time.

I'm talking about domestic forum, not this forum

I don't converse with foreign creeps in Chinese. It is reserved for business use and use with my countrymen.

Don't get mad

I simply said that English speaking Chinese have a broader understanding of the world and the battlefield in large whereas those who have never left China understand a much smaller and seemingly less dangerous world. I never said superior. Those guys in China can math/physics/innovate the shit out of anybody anyday no matter what the language.

Really? Those who never left the country are much more prone to CCP propaganda, those who has been abroad for a while are much more prone to western propaganda. So you are saying that being exposed to western propaganda gives you "a broader understanding of the world and the battlefield in large",interesting.

Well, that will apparantly depend on what you're talking about. And that topic could very well result in a selection bias if most people with less extreme opinions do not go online to express them. What are you talking about?

What makes you think that people with less "extreme opinions" have lower internet literacy(go online)than people with more "extreme opinions"?

No, it's just that I had no idea that you were so far off topic that I was wrong to assume that it was even politically-directioned. I don't know what the hell you're talking about now. It could be any random hobby in China. Get back to me when you grow a spine and can nail down a topic rather than trying to escape every debate with, "Oh, I wasn't talking about that. Why do you assume I was? Oh, no it's not this either. Politics isn't important. I'm not talking about anything in particular." LOL Get the bones to stand up before you jellyfish yourself into a fight.

I‘m not in SDF to fight anybody,I have long passed that stage. You don't think I'm making any sense?Just ignore me

You're the one assuming everyone's life is what you read on the screen. That's what you directly said; it is not data extrapolation from yours or our post counts. I have been here longer than you, post more than you but like I said, my interactions are at least 10X more in person. All facts.

I guess that "screen" include SDF right?Don't assume Chinese people‘s life is what read on this forum, get it.

I have never seen a Chinese person call himself a France/UK/Australia/US expert before. To all the Chinese people, I say, be an expert in STEM, not in some other culture.

There are tons of Chinese influencers acting as if they are XX country's expert on social media and video platform

Damn you're ignorant. Do you think this is a Chinese forum or something? This is an American forum. Do you even realize that? There were no Chinese-speaking mods when the forum began. So obviously, they didn't want Chinese people to post Chinese everywhere on an American forum making it foreign to its own creators and officers. The reason you might think this is a Chinese forum is that it has become so pro-China in recent years because, apparently, the truth has a pro-Chinese angle.

Here is your original words “It's for Chinese people in China and the English version is for Chinese people overseas, sometimes with limited Chinese command”

You literally said that this forum is for Chinese people overseas,if that is true, how come members here don't understand Chinese?

big difference between Chinese laborers being enslaved by American companies and working under American direction vs. Chinese companies designing infrastructure and making profit from other countries with foreign workers operating under Chinese instruction.

unfortunately nobody remembers or cares about the ordinary people, they only care about who made the money in the end.

Why don't you quote the whole sentence? I have no idea what the hell you're nipping at. Chinese people who have been overseas are more educated on international affairs and politics. That's what I said. Quote the whole sentences that confuse you, not 2-4 word phrases that can mean anything out of context.
I'm talking about domestic forum, not this forum
Well, you're on this one now basically pretending to everyone you have a leg to stand on in "other forums." Not in this one and not without proof of what you're talking about, which, you still can't clarify.
Don't get mad
You'd like to pretend that you have enough weight to get me mad, don't you? LOL Don't get creepy.

Those who have never left the country only know what China is like and those who have been abroad have seen both China and its rival countries. There's no twisting what I said; it's undisputable that those with a wider view tend to have a broader understanding. Know yourself and know your enemy; those who have never left China can satisfy only the former condition.
What makes you think that people with less "extreme opinions" have lower internet literacy(go online)than people with more "extreme opinions"?
It's common sense, not internet literacy. If you bought a bike and you rode it to general satisfaction, you are much much less likely to go online and write about it than someone who either could not believe how smooth and fast the bike was compared to his other bikes or someone whose bike broke apart from under them in the first ride. You don't even understand this concept?
I‘m not in SDF to fight anybody,I have long passed that stage. You don't think I'm making any sense?Just ignore me
No, I wanna show everyone why you're not making any sense and give you the chance to defend yourself. If you don't like that, don't write on a public forum.
I guess that "screen" include SDF right?
Yeah....
Don't assume Chinese people‘s life is what read on this forum, get it.
There is very little about people's lives here. It's a military forum. Get it.
There are tons of Chinese influencers acting as if they are XX country's expert on social media and video platform
Don't know what you are talking about, don't support them, think they're weird. China has 1.4B people; all sorts of freaks exist. The point is how your government and mainstream views them. Ignore them as weirdos or invite them on Fox/CNN as an esteemed expert? That's what counts.
Here is your original words “It's for Chinese people in China and the English version is for Chinese people overseas, sometimes with limited Chinese command”
Not SDF. That's Chinese overseas media.
You literally said that this forum is for Chinese people overseas,if that is true, how come members here don't understand Chinese?
No, I never said that; it's stupid to say that. I specifically told you that SDF is an American forum for following the Chinese military in English. How come you don't even understand English??
"Do you think this is a Chinese forum or something? This is an American forum. Do you even realize that? There were no Chinese-speaking mods when the forum began."

This shit is hilariously misinformed and propagandist. Stop with your western boot licking nonsense disguised as China and Chinese people are able to discern b.s. and all that western shilling you love to do.

Why not just flat out say you'd love for China to submit to American scams and become it's vassal like Japan, South Korea where most of their industries pretty much fall under American thumb.

From China's political system, business practices, science and tech, to how it's soldiers are supposedly ill trained. Man, just drop your act and be honest for once.

For those who don't know, the english football team Manchester City is owned by the City Football Group whose shareholders are 81% is majority owned by Newton Investment and Development LLC, 18% by the american firm Silver Lake and 1% by chinese firms China Media Capital and CITIC Capital.

These two stories have to do with one another. Manchester United is following what the NBA has been doing which is courting a Chinese fan base. And because of that, the Republicans and Democrats have been critical and working against it. Wondering what the hell China is taking so long? It's because the US has been working against it. They vilify China so that no one takes a liking. Look at how that US athlete at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics was banned by Twitter for countering the US propaganda narrative of how athletes were being treated horribly there. There are negative consequences if you say anything good about China. Look at Leonardo DiCaprio who said good things China was doing for green technology and now he has China under his environmental crosshairs. Why the 180 degree change? Was it because he saw himself being attacked by the right-wing because of his political ignorance?

So if you go by the Western definition of what soft power is which is your culture has to have something they like, it doesn't really matter because they're the ones with the power to like or not like you. Like would anything the Chinese have to offer be to their liking when they're motivated by geo-political purposes to not like anything from China...? The Chinese could discover the cure to cancer... and you don't think the West won't be working against it because they didn't discover it first? That would be soft power but we know that won't make them like Chinese. It would be actually the opposite because a white person didn't discover it first. Like I've mentioned before... China invented printing. Without printing the West would be full of illiterates and they would never have been the power they are today. You figure they would have to like China for that... but they don't. So what is it going to take for the West to like Chinese. The only thing that will make them like the Chinese is when Chinese sign their soul away to Devil meaning them.

Other tragedies have happened during the villanization of Chinese...

The Black Lives Movement was co-opted by the Leftist Elite for their political purposes, including turning African-Americans on the Asian minority. They've become the most frequent instigators of Asian hate crimes in the US... the statistics are one-way and astounding. Although I would say the White->Asian hate crimes are more likely to be covered up or left unreported.

Blacks and Chinese used to have solidarity and a sense of brotherhood... Remember when Bruce Lee's impression on his African and African-American audiences was so strong that him and his style of Kung Fu became a foundation of

made it huge in Black acting and Black cinema.

1/3 of the US's most successful top 25 foreign language films involve Asian martial arts (1: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; 3: Hero; 6: Jet Li's Fearless; 10: Kung Fu Hustle; 12: Iron Monkey; 18: The Protector; 22: House of Flying Daggers)

This kept going with Jackie Chan, who refused to cast blacks as gang members in "Rumble in the Bronx" and got along great with stars like Jaden Smith in "Karate Kid" and Chris Tucker in their many Rush Hours. Mainstream media even tries to cancel Jackie now that he's left Hollywood, since he was pretty vocal about his support for the CPC before and after the Hong Kong riots.

I can't find any similar feelings in the Black youth of today. Maybe it's just all about
