Some more LNG related news.

  1. Hudong Zhonghua delivered only 11 LNG vessels in 2025. China total delivered 15 LNG carriers. Korea meanwhile delivered 63 LNG Carriers in 2025 alone, >4x China's delivery.
  2. Hudong Zhonghua is fully booked for LNG Carriers until 2029, which means next slot is available only in 2030.
  3. Industry projections (GTT, and other non-Koreans) are for around 150 LNG Carrier orders this year.
  4. "Hudong Zhonghua is rapidly expanding its LNG carrier business, with the company opening a new $2.5 billion LNG carrier yard in Changxingdao, north of Shanghai, in May 2025, increasing its annual LNG carrier construction capacity from six to ten"
  5. Dalian, Jiangsu, CMHI Jiangsu are recent entrants in LNG Carrier business
  6. LNG carriers are the only vessel type where Korea, the world's second-largest shipbuilder, holds an advantage over China
  7. Beginning of the year has been strong for China in getting LNG orders, but they are capacity constrained, so Koreans expect people to come back to them in big numbers. (this doesn't mean Korea didn't get LNG orders, just that their market share declined, compared to last year when they had 90% market share)

CSSC launched 18000t deep sea construction vessel using 711th Institute's self developed IEPS. This complete set of medium-voltage AC electric propulsion has mediun & low volt power distribution, main/side thruster system & DP 2 Dynamic positioning systems.

The vessel is capable of performing subsea cable laying and maintenance tasks in global waters. This propulsion has already been used in NG hydrate drilling vessel 梦想号 and deep-sea technical service vessel 海洋石油 292. It reduces overall energy consumption by 15% vs traditional power distribution schemes.

1月28日,中国船舶集团有限公司旗下江南造船在10号平台绝缘安装场地举行第100个B型舱完工仪式。自2021年首个B型舱完工至今,历经1700多个日夜的不懈奋斗,江南造船在B型舱围护系统与超大型乙烷运输船(VLEC)领域实现跨越式发展,成功打破了国外对低温围护系统的技术垄断。
CSSC's JN shipyard delivered 100th B type cabin for a new VLEC. This has been under delivery since 2021.

绝缘安装周期从首舱45天缩短至20天;自主研发并部署了支座自动化焊接专用设备,关键焊缝自动化覆盖率达100%;5%Ni钢高效焊技术实现了规模化应用和技术的迭代升级;单舱建造周期从最初的140天缩短至88天。
The cabin installation period has decreased from 45 to 20 days. It uses self developed automatic welding equipment with 100% of core parts from domestic supply chain. It uses steel with 5% Nickel content. Cabin construction time has decreased from 140 to 88 days.
