Yes that’s still a lot to be honest. Foreign companies makes hundreds of billions in China, yet China doesn’t mind and make much noise . Yet when Chinese companies make just a few millions or billions/maker jet share in their markets it becomes a huge issue. This is something that needs to change

The tools backlog is drying out. Now the sales drought is coming as domestic companies become the prefered choice due export controls. The US and the vassals leave Chinese companies with no choice.

Breakthrough in femtosecond laser technology! High aspect ratio micro-hole fabrication achieved on 3.7mm thick SiC.​


In the high-end manufacturing sector, silicon carbide (SiC) ceramics, with their superior properties such as high hardness, high thermal conductivity, high temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance, have become an important basic material for industries such as semiconductor equipment, aerospace, and new energy. However, due to the material's inherent hardness and brittleness and the extremely high difficulty in processing, achieving high-precision, high-quality micropore processing on thick silicon carbide has always been a significant technical challenge for the industry.

Recently, Yueqian Laser announced new progress in femtosecond laser precision machining technology, successfully completing the machining of a large aspect ratio micro-hole in 3.7 mm thick silicon carbide material. This machining achieved high-quality fabrication with a 600-micron aperture, demonstrating excellent machining accuracy and consistency, and providing a new technical solution for the manufacturing of silicon carbide precision components.

In terms of processing results, both types of silicon carbide materials achieved near-ideal straight holes, with minimal difference between the inlet and outlet diameters of the micropores, smooth and flat hole walls, and no common defects such as cracks or recast layers. Some samples even exhibited high surface finish, demonstrating the unique advantages of femtosecond lasers in the micromachining of hard and brittle materials.

The core of this achievement lies in the "cold processing" characteristics of femtosecond lasers. Unlike traditional machining or long-pulse laser processing, femtosecond lasers can complete energy deposition in an extremely short time, directly removing materials through a "cold ablation" mechanism. This significantly reduces the formation of heat-affected zones, avoids microcracks and material damage caused by thermal stress, and thus preserves the original properties of silicon carbide to the greatest extent.

Meanwhile, femtosecond laser processing also features high precision, high consistency, and non-contact processing. This technology can effectively control hole size, roundness, and taper, achieving stable batch processing; at the same time, it avoids problems such as edge chipping and breakage caused by tool wear and mechanical contact, providing reliable assurance for the manufacturing of complex structures and precision micro-holes.

as per Korean Media, CXMT Targeting a 20% DRAM share globally within four years. CXMT’s goal is to overtake Micron and become the world’s third-largest DRAM maker by 2030. To do that, it must more than double its current market share in the 7% range and expand it to around 20%.

Korean media also reported that CXMT employees who received equity incentives ahead of the company’s listing could end up holding shares worth hundreds of thousands of dollars per person.

Shanghai-based memory chip company plans IPO!​


According to the IPO guidance disclosure system on the official website of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), Ingenic Technology Co., Ltd. and its guidance broker, Guotai Haitong Securities, submitted a "Report on Completion of Guidance Work" to the Shanghai Securities Regulatory Bureau. Ingenic Technology submitted its guidance filing on December 19, 2024, and the guidance work lasted for one and a half years.

Innolux's main business is the design and supply of high-performance solid-state drive (SSD) controller chips, as well as providing SSD and storage system solutions. The company's products are widely used in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data center management, and autonomous driving.

Inspiron's enterprise-grade solid-state drive products mainly include two series: the "N series" for the PCIe SSD market and the "S series" for the SATA SSD market. Both series use self-developed controller chips and offer a variety of NAND flash memory solutions and capacity configurations, including domestically produced NAND flash memory, to provide products and services for customers at different stages and with different storage needs.

Among them, the Dongting-N3X series is a representative product of INTRODUCTION's AI SSDs. It adopts the PCIe Gen5 interface and INTRODUCTION's optimized data engine, and is equipped with a new type of storage medium between HBM /DDR and FLASH - the high-performance KIOXIA XL-FLASH storage medium. The product combination has an ultra-high performance of up to 14.7GB/s, a latency of only 1/3 of that of TLC SSDs , and a durability (DWPD) of 17-33 times that of TLC SSDs, which can provide strong support for training acceleration and inference acceleration.

Srui New Materials invests 919 million yuan to build a new materials base, expanding its production capacity for optical module heat sinks and high-voltage contacts.​


Srui New Materials announced a 919 million yuan ($126M+ USD) investment to build a new "Electrothermal Functional Materials R&D and Manufacturing Base." The project is fully self-funded and will be executed by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Xi'an Srui New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.

The base is divided into two main sub-projects targeting high-growth downstream sectors:​
  1. Optical Module Materials (479 million yuan): Production of 40 million optical module chip bases and housing materials. These serve as core heat sinks for 800G and 1.6T high-speed optical modules used in AI data centers.​
  2. High-Voltage Contacts (440 million yuan): Production of 1,290 tons of high-voltage switch contacts (copper-chromium and tungsten-copper) for use in power grids and new energy transmission.​
The construction period is 5 years, with full completion and operations expected by December 2030. This is an optimization of a previously planned industrial park project, consolidating resources to focus specifically on computing power/optical communication and high-voltage power equipment.

Future Capacity & Current Market Status Once fully operational, the new base will yield an annual production capacity of:​
  • 25 million optical module chip base materials and 15 million housing materials.​
  • 1,290 tons of high-voltage contacts (1,020 tons copper-chromium; 270 tons tungsten-copper).​

The company is already well-positioned in these markets. The optical chip bases and high-voltage contacts are already being supplied to the market at scale/in stable batches, while the optical housing materials are currently in the customer sampling and integration phase.​
