I've tried Kingsoft but it heavier/slower than Libre Office. Maybe something wrong with my computer ... ?

Kingsoft does seem cause some cpu spike compare to libre, but nothing to cause a slow down in my test usage

Does anyone have information about china programing language ?
I read of one in the early 2000s, but it ended up being a copy/fork of another one... possibly python. I can imagine there are some niche lang for special usages like defence, research , embeded etc. The world mainly operates on the common programming language like java, python, javacript/react, c/c++ etc.

is a place one can explore Chinese open source projects (+others since its free to anyone)

Indeed, it caused several crashes on my computer. The problem is I'm not well-versed in soft/hard-wares.

It does not need to be 100% made in China as long the source code is available and free to use, modify, and distribute. LibreOffice is perfectly fine for example. China needs to focus on software which is not available open source like EDA software.

China really needs a government supported (maybe linux based) OS for all pcs, compatible with common apps like steam.

So far all we've seen are a couple of mediocre ones

As said previously, deepin is becoming known even in the west. Steam is supported on linux but with limited amount of games that are either compatible on linux or running via wine emulation. Linux only makes about 1-3% of total desktop OS. If hundreds of millions of Chinese went linux, it would be a huge incentive for more apps/games to finally get ported over.

Deepin is free if anyone wants to give it a try. You should be able to run it in a Virtual Machine (prob with limited functionality , like no sound) if you have 64+ gig of hd space to allocate to it. Should be able to install as dual boot on windows too if you have the freespace to devote to it, but i advise doing a backup of your data.

I have been using linux daily (not deepin). I don't game so it does everything i need. However, when something breaks, you really need some technical skills and google-fu.

Windows and MacOS is great or becoming great because there are big multibillion/trillion dollar companies supporting it. A China OS would also need some $$/Buisness model and support before it can become more mainstream

I have used Deepin on and off on my private laptop it works okay, but I get more battery performance using windows and the fans don't spin that much on my matebook x pro when using windows VS linux distro. The better fan control and battery life is why I keep going back to Windows.

But i wouldn't mind a Huawei backed Harmony OS Linux distribution. As long as it has some tiling window capability like Fancy zones on windows or something like a i3 or AwesomeWM mode.
