Chinese infantry fighting vehicles

According to the label on the vehicle, this vehicle belongs Chinese Forest Police; however, the poster of the photos comment that the vehicle looks "too ugly"! As long as it's tough and strong, who cares about its appearance, huh? But, to go off-road in the forest, I hope the vehicle gets bigger wheels.

Well yes, but, and there's always a but, the 21st. Century recruits care about aesthetics far more than older generations, so military vehicles need to look like the stuff from Halo video games and not from their grandparents' garage.

FNGs maybe, but any veteran worth his salt would prefer a fugly piece of kit that's reliable, efficient, comfortable and useful over something that looks cool but just doesn't perform where it matters.

It looks like a disguised buggy. Or one of those:

From the beginning perhaps, but right after basic training and AIT, they'll get to know and appreciate how ruggedness and less maintenance on any equipment are far more important than looks.

Several variants of ZBD-08 on the same rail cart (engineering, command, and IFV), along with a 99a2 MBT. This is pretty much the latest and the greatest lineup in Chinese armor:

Yet another new variant of the ZBD-08:

saw few of these but without turrets last year on truck beds going from beijing to hebei province, took a few pictures as well, but couldnt find them anymore:(

Mystery solved, and you are correct:

Unfortunately these pictures do not capture the turret armament nor the front of the contraption on top of the turret. The top rectangular piece looks like a millimeter wave radar to me, so what is the rest of it? Is it a standalone hard kill active defense system (ADS)? Or a sensor package that integrates with the main armament to form a hard kill ADS and provide some AA capability?

New APC/IFV prototype.

It has a RWS and the JT-1 laser system (or something like it) what can be found in Type 99 tanks. Running gear seems to be also upgraded when compared to ZBD-08, probably because of increased weight.
