Another researcher involved in the negotiations said the export of the blade processing machine would be part of wider jet engine collaboration between the two countries.

“We will buy something else from them in return,” he said. “It can be either hardware or technology. The Germans are very good at the design and engineering of compressors [which send fresh air into the combustion chamber].”

Unrelated to Military Powerplants but...

China seems to have worked out a Technology transfer from Japan's Mitsubishi Hitachi regarding H-25 Heavy Duty Gas turbines.

According to media reports, on March 28, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power System Co., Ltd. held a H-25 gas turbine technology transfer agreement.

These turbine tech may not see immediate use in Military Gas Turbines ( Marine propulsion) but could see use on Terrestrial Gas Turbines for Power stations.
But hopefully, there is technology spill into Military Domain.Chinese Institute 703 is in Charge of this.
R0110 Gas turbine series could see some improvements in efficiency/ processes with a good Civilian Heavy Duty GT base.

Which power station uses R0110? I don't think R0110 will be considered for a power station as Efficiency, Maintainability matter much for power generation. The best F class Gas Turbines extract huge power and are greatly serviceable and efficient. As much as I appreciate the indigenous success of R0110, it isn't cutting edge in the fierce global GT market.

Things will change after infusion of technology from H-25 that has a proven record of efficiency and customer satisfaction.

No matter if R0110 is used by power station or not, it is a gas turbine designed for power station, and a project by AVIC.

As to H25, it is only a project of CSOC, the major power station GT producers in China are Shanghai Electric Group, Dofang Electric Group and Harbin Electric Group . It has nothing to do with the mainstrain power station GT market. So is it technology important for CSOC? No, because CSOC's major business is not in power station GT. Is it important for China? No, because the government never relys on CSOC to suppply power station GT.

Isn't the chinese Institute 703 in charge of this. Why do they need this Technology transfer agreement in the first place if they have achieved self sufficiency and competitiveness with R0110 ?
I think this transfer was important to China.

Taken directly from the horse's mouth.

RO110 -- 110MW. This engine isn't new. Its been around for a few years now. When this engine appeared, there was buzz it would be used with a future aircraft carrier. The answer should be, no, this is pure stationary power generation only.

This table is very important. It confirms the existence of two engines more powerful than the QD280, which is the engine used on the Type 052C, 052D and the Type 055. QD300 could be the engine coming for future destroyers, whether its a new variant of the 052X series, or a new 055 variant. QD500 is also very important. The only possible use I can think for this is for an aircraft carriers, with four of these 50MW gas turbines producing a total of 200MW, which is about the total power produced by the Nimitz class or a Kitty Hawk class carrier.

Smaller engines like QD50 to QD128 might be used for smaller warships, e.g. future corvettes and frigates. Commercial ship applications in China is heavily biased and reliant towards diesel use from the smallest to the biggest ships, so I am inclined to think if you see a naval or marine gas turbine, it might be for military use. Small gas turbines can also be used for small power plant applications.

QD280 producing 30MW. They probably redesignated this QD280 version to QD300.

Thanks @Tam for the image of QD128.
I have already seen (and posted) the pics of QC280 and R0110 Gas Turbines. (Harbin GT establishments products).But I have not been successful in finding the pics of AVIC products.
I have some doubts -
Is it QC280 or QD 280 ? ( What is the expansion of the QC or QD terms? )
Is it R0110 or RO110 ?
