WS-20 is not a product of 420 Factory.
So is the WS-20 final engine for the Y-20?
We have seen the information that it has been in testing for such a long time, how much longer it will take? I think 2020 and the coming years is the time it should appear in service.

WS-20 is likely the final engine for the Y-20. When it will enter service? Nobody really knows at this point, hopefully 2020. We will know when pictures leak of Y-20's testing with 4 WS-20s, signalling it is close to completion.

It appears that it wont be in 2020 nor anytime soon. Check post #5,340 of this thread.
It does not really matter because what count is WS 18 analog to DK 30 and they will be mass produced soon! China has not sign contract for more DK 30 and with production of Y 20 come full tilt they soon run out of imported engine.
WS 20 is nice to have but not necessary. They can switched over when it is available

I've come around to this way of thinking myself. I used to be amped up and impatient to see the new engines (WS-15, WS-19, WS-20, etc.), but it's much more important to establish robust quality control processes. I don't want these engines to have 1/4 the lifespan of their Western counterparts or, heaven forbid with something like the CJ-1000, fall out of the sky.

I agree. WS-20 is not indispensable, but AFAIK it is the first indigenous high-bypass engine of china. They have to show that they can create one by themselves.

Besides, WS-20 is more powerful than WS-18 and will add to the cargo capacity of Y-20.

New principle, high thrust-to-weight ratio engine realizes assembly and integration of the whole machine
The new principle of the Institute's independent innovation of a high thrust-to-weight ratio engine achieves the assembly and integration of the whole machine, establishes the engine's new structural assembly specifications, validates the new aerodynamic layout of the engine's overall structural design technology, and lays a solid foundation for the next engine performance test. The technology of shock wave supercharging with low entropy increment initiated by the engine integration research institute is the first aeroengine in the world to adopt a new aerodynamic layout to greatly improve the thrust weight ratio, which has important application value.
