Chinese Economics Thread

B.I.B.

Captain
I read somewhere, as someone put it, "China just wants your minerals, the West wants your soul".
Given the behaviour of the Atlanticists, i'd say they are frantic and panicking over China refusing to be cowed by their pressuring and attempts to isolate China.
In the span of a week, after Anchorage, the Chinese leadership has decisively put the Anglos on the defensive, inking that deal with Iran and de-dollarising with Russia and Turkey.
And the thing is, China isn't even at their full potential yet!
Truly, the world will shake when you awaken the Dragon.

Australia's even more fucked than you can imagine, the government printed heaps of covid cheques for people (really, just giving the money to the big corporations that own them) and so they're raising taxes on everyone- and when you consider the K shaped recovery of Australia where the stock market does well but the ppl are going to become jobless and things are looking dire over the course of the next 5 years, you can understand why the Australian ambassador in China lost his cool and cried and said China was being "vindictive".

Well, no shit sherlock; you come at the King, best make sure you don't miss. The Anglo Australians spearheaded the shit in HK in 2019 and were eager deputy sheriffs for the Anglo US. It is appropriate that Anglo australia be punished as an example for all.
As a resident in Australia, i'm personally looking to profit from all of this, just gathering all my dosh, looking to buy when the ASX collapses or housing goes to shit.
Hmmm, When do you expect to see signs of this happening? Currently unemployment is dropping with job vacancies up 25% from 6months ago.

Wow another economic front opened against China from "Chinese" news SCMP. Treason.

  • An SCMP examination traces the supply chain for viscose rayon from Finland’s forests to state-run factories in Xinjiang – and then fanning out around the world
  • Analysis reveals viscose producers with links to sanctioned entities and factories within miles of suspected detention camps in Xinjiang
So SCMP did an "investigation" (lol) and found another item produced in Xinjiang from "suspected detention camps".

And after this look what happened..

Finnish pulp and paper giant Stora Enso says it will “divest” from making the raw ingredient needed to produce wood-based viscose rayon fibre, the world’s third most common clothing material, a day after a South China Morning Post article highlighted potentially problematic links between the company and possible forced labour in Xinjiang.
So now the Finnish company will stop sourcing the material from Xinjiang...
Treason?

Time for Alibaba to divest from SCMP, and for regulators to start antitrust investigations om this company.

Time for Jack Ma to go back to his "home" and stay there for another year or so until he learns from his "mistakes"

And time for the national security law to be applied on SCMP (Hong Kong), and for the Xinjiang gov to sue it for damages (slander) and then it shut down/or arrest these "investigators" who caused this damage to Xinjiang

Not for a while yet, iron ore and minerals are really the backbone of Australia’s economy; within 5 years you will definitely see tangible results which is around the time those iron ore mines in guinea are up and operational.

however, other sectors like education and agribusiness will suffer and contract; the real estate is artificially kept scarce since lots of politicians and the boomer voting bloc have their wealth tied up in real estate even without Chinese buyers.

Hongkong is a place infested with Hanjians. They even join the western propaganda bandwagon by opening a new front through their biggest newspaper.

@hashtagpls Regarding the Atlanticists, Anthony Blinken is a member and he wrote an anonymous article about the need to separate Russia from China only for Biden to screw things up...LOL. I think its an opportune time for China to flex and fight back but a dangerous time for all of us, there is no Captain manning the ship of USS America, with different interest group bickering among themselves.
Capt (N) Ken Ward captain's USS America?

Joking aside, I don't view the US having great options here Trump went all in with the chips before Biden even got in. Now it's all about convincing others to share in the hurt, a tough sell.

All it means is prices go up in the West. Again do they think the West is the only ones that buys cotton thus think China will collapse because of it? Remember most of the China alternatives buy their cotton from China. That means prices go up because a country like Vietnam will have to get their cotton from someone more expensive to have it transported to Vietnam by even more expensive means.

China should help out the West by stopping exports of rare earths so they're aren't dependent on China anymore. Just look at the global chip shortage in part because of the US trade policies on China. Just imagine higher Western tech chains that will grind to halt when they're denied critical rare earths elements to produce technology.

...

Russia is going to increase the capacity of its Far Eastern railways by 2024, including the Trans Siberian Railroad, to boost their coal exports. Supposedly Russia extracts plenty of coal at Kuzbass and Yakutia but cannot ship enough of it with existing transportation links. It is expected Russian coal exports will increase by 40%.

I can guess where the coal is supposed to be exported to. East Asia i.e. China.

A very positive development. Only those African countries who perform well will now receive Chinese financing.

China is doing a very noble thing. China could've acted like a loan shark and kept giving money to these nations knowing very well they will default and then China could get anything in return. But they're not. China wants sustainable development for African nations. So much for "Debt TraP"

China will provide you finance, tech and all assistance required but the Govt there also has to do its part .
