btw, is there a Chinese version of the American food stamp program? Is there a way for the gov't to help the poor pay for/get food?
None. It is in Chinese culture to have dignity even if you are poorest of the poor; Chinese people wont beg for food. We beg for work! we even work at long hours with very little pay thats why the world has much cheaper products. Back in the old times, people will even do apprenticeship work to a master craftsman with very little pay to none as long as there is food and place to sleep.

The government instead help those very poor with new livelihoods and free/subsidized housing.
We can find it in youtube.

They tightening rates it seems.

If you're gonna tighten rates you have to have policies to increase money velocity/spending or else it'll lead to deflation.

Will be interesting to see how CCP tackles various serious issues in the next few years.

The program is called 低保. I believe people under the program get free food from the government

Thanks!

I was curious as China is still supposed to be nominally socialist, but it’s often unclear what types of programs are in place that reflect this.

You should watch this
and this
CCP cadets who wants to move up join the anti poverty program for a few years. They worked in the poor areas to teach the people how to improve their job prospects and get their children educated.

Maybe It's a bit early to say that.

Anglos- especially the type who read and write for thompson reuters- aren't particularly bright.

The target of the chinese trade war against Australia wasn't australia per se: it was the EU. By demonstrating how China could fuck EU trade if it joined against the US led trade and tech war against China, Australia became the sacrificial chicken to scare the monkeys.

Now that the CAI has been signed and the EU's neutrality assured, there is yet still need for the continuing trade war against Australia- to impress upon Australia's leaders of the continued folly of continuing with the anglo led cold war against China. Given that Australia under the Libs have blocked all Chinese investment into Australia, you can hardly expect the Chinese to continue giving money to a state which so readily rejects their money.

Excellent. Then i guess Reuters has no reason to get anxious & run 5 articles everyday to say how Australia is winning the trade war & China is paying heavy price. Chine is losing. That's what West wanted. So no problem i see there. Let China keep losing.
