In brief

This November, ESA’s Mars Express spacecraft carried out a series of experimental communication tests with the Chinese (CNSA) Zhurong Mars rover. Mars Express successfully caught data sent up ‘in the blind’ by the rover and relayed them to Earth where they were forwarded to the Zhurong team in China.

China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station successfully received the data of Gaofen-3 02 satellite

On November 28, the China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station of the Institute of Aerospace Information Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences successfully received the data of the Gaofen-3 02 satellite. At 6 o'clock in the morning of the same day, the ground station Sanya station first completed the tracking, receiving, recording and transmission of the first orbit observation data of the Gaofen-3 02 satellite as planned. After that, Miyun Station and Kashi Station also completed satellite data reception tasks as planned.

As of the evening of November 29, the ground station had completed 9 orbits of satellite data reception tasks, receiving satellite data of about 303GB, and all received data were processed normally. Prior to the first orbit mission, the ground station had completed the satellite-to-ground connection test on November 27, and the satellite-to-ground data transmission link was tested and verified.

Gaofen-3 02 was successfully launched on November 23. It is one of the synthetic aperture radar service satellites planned for China’s civil space infrastructure. The ground station is responsible for the satellite’s data reception task, and the Microwave Remote Sensing System Department is responsible for the satellite’s effectiveness. Payload-1m resolution C-band multi-polarization synthetic aperture radar (SAR) development mission. At 9 a.m. on November 27th, the researchers performed a stand-alone power-up according to the flight control plan, involving antenna distributors, radar distributors, radar computers, and crystal oscillators. Each step of the power-up was confirmed. The power-up process went smooth and the telemetry values were in normal range. The first imaging was carried out on November 28. The single unit and antenna array in the cabin worked normally, and the related telemetry was within the normal range.

Rocket Lab's Neutron rocket moves away from electrical pump.

It has come to my mind that many of the past hype of fancy "creative" ideas in the "private" space industry are partially fanboy's "脑补" (head canon?) from marketing gimmicks of the "innovators"'s deliberate not-correcting-the-attention-attacking-hypes.

When the electrical pump was used to launch, it was hyped to be something revolutionary, but Rocket lab knew very well they are not going to use it for meaningful launch. But they certainly won't stop people bloating it.

When SpaceX launched Falcon 9 with Merlin (gas generator) they had put their future on Raptor (closed cycle). They did not bother to cool the hype of Merlin's super high T/W ratio being the king.

In the end, physics dictate, the old rocket makers have tried everything possible, the new comers can not invent anything new, except stirring up hypes, or re-invent the wheel.

Well, they can do something new: con private investors and get lots of nontransparent money.

The Yutou-2 lunar rover has discovered an interesting object and will now investigate.

Upon ascending a steep slope, Yutou-2 snapped a panoramic photo of its surroundings and beamed it back to ground control, which then spotted an interesting obstruction jutting out from the horizon (first image below). The rover will now be directed to investigate. The object is approximately 80m away, and it will take the rover 2-3 months to arrive at the destination.
