China's SCS Strategy Thread

Anyone has thoughts on the use of wind turbines potential uses? They're big, they're numerous, they're gonna be hard to destroy due to their size and numbers. There's so much that you can do with them. I can see "fake" wind turbines in the SCS that host radars, missiles, fuel depots, resupply hubs, charging ports for battery powered submarines.

Imagine a fleet sailing next to to some massive wind farm of hundreds of turbine only for a dozen of them to suddenly start launching anti-ship missiles at you. Or suddenly having the entire coast of China covered by dozens of extremely powerful radar hidden in the hub of massive wind turbines

The blades are hollow and surprisingly easy to break.

Their main superstructure and generator hub wouldn't be as fragile. And it's more of a numbers game. A big wind farm can have hundreds of turbines, if you have no idea which is hosting a missile within the tower, what are you gonna do? Destroy them all? That's hundreds of missiles or bombs down the drain.

The moment you start hiding military hardware inside civilian infrastructure is when you start getting indiscriminate civilian bombing. Also that plan seems very complex for limited benefits, I can't imagine being a engineer tasked with launching a missile from a wind turbine.

Every war has had indiscriminate civilian bombings. How are you supposed to destroy military infrastructure without also destroying the city it's in? Also, good luck getting inland to bomb cities. This is a few wind farms in the middle of the ocean, nobody will be hurt even if you nuke the entire wind farm.

And again, this are hundred ton structures on hundred+ meter towers designed to endure harsh storms, you're gonna need some serious firepower to destroy them. If you want to waste hundreds of bombs/missiles to wipe out a wind farm spread out over a hundred square kilometers, even better.

And I don't see why launching missiles is complex. Just load the missiles onto the generator hub in canister form. Missile silos can store missiles long term and be ready for launch within seconds at the push of a button.

But fine, even without missiles, you can use them for all sorts of sensors and datalinks, fire and control radar, laser rangefinders, datalinks with a fiber connection to the mainland. I bet that you can fit a very powerful radar within the generator hub. there's a plentiful supply of electricity already and off shore turbines can be up to 200 meters high, letting them see far above the horizon. They can also be used for launching and recovering drones. A grey area so to speak.

China is already planning to build dozens of wind farms in her coastal zones and surrounding oceans and seas. Just a few of them in every wind farm and you can get a massive chunk of surrounding ocean covered in sensors.

Is this for real? It seems Nuland has been assigned to carry out the task of turning PH into Asia's Ukraine in a renewed effort to support Taiwan separatists. Nuland's presence in PH is a worrying sign that the Americans are intent on entrenching themselves in this part of the world

The West bombs, tortures, rapes, and enslaves civilians at great scale in war, regardless of whether you do this or not. The only questions that should factor into whether to conceal military assets like this are whether it's tactically effective, strategically effective, cost effective, and for how long it would be so.

China already has dedicated platforms for surveillance in the SCS and beyond. No need to mess around with wind turbines.
