two assets affect America's power projection: bases around the world, and its cvn groups. China's missiles have largely neutralized those two assets. the other day an expert claims due to China's weakness in anti-submarine, the Ohio SSGN may determine the outcome of future conflicts.

This chart is meaningless. US Pacific Fleet has more destroyers and cruisers (55) than PLA Navy.

Once the current batch of Type-052D and Type-055 are commissioned within the next 2 years, I get a total of 49 destroyers/cruisers in service.

It will be interesting to see how many more ships are added to the Chinese Navy in the coming years

I don't see how its meaningless, forward deployed assets are going to be important in any Taiwan scenario or SCS clash. Hawaii is probably a week or more from Chinese waters, San Diego is even further.

Through 2020, the US military deployed 3 CSGs, 2 ARGS, mulitiple nuclear subs, nearly 1,000 sorties of reconnaissance planes and 17 batches of strategic bombers to the SouthChinaSea, whose intensity, scale and duration were rarely seen in recent years.
