I may be wrong, but from what I can gather here and there, it seems that Patchwork Chimera has very interesting things to say and is now not online, for some reason. Is that right?

He left social media (not just here but also twitter, reddit, etc) because he knew a lot more than most (professionally) and didn't suffer fools, so when people attacked him for disrupting their comfortable narratives with uncomfortable facts he decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

Frankly, I would probably do the same in his position.

What in the world are you even talking about? While there's an element of truth to what you posted, thr primary reason he had to delete his digital footprints in social media was due to that young American soldier who's account was compromised or the soldier himself posted classified information re: the Ukraine war, which led to the Pentagon going hard on every individuals with social media presence to cease and desist from further posting.

In his last tweet before he deleted his account, he specifically said that he joined social media because he naively thought people would appreciate learning truths. He learned the hard way that people were wilfully ignorant, not just ignorant. This was almost a year before the Jack Teixeira thing, though it certainly didn't help his (very limited) presence afterwards.

He left because he had an argument with Manqiangrexue over F-22 vs J-20 tactical performance. Weirdly though he admitted in that video of underestimating J-20. Maybe it reflected changing US intel regarding J-20.

If I remember correctly, he left this forum specifically because of demands that he reveal classified information to substantiate his argument. Which he, understandably, declined to do for obvious reasons. His departure was a shame, because while he had a temper and could be quite rude, he did know a lot of useful stuff.

I actually think he is a very nice guy. I saw the back and forth at the time. He was not demanded of classified information, the other person argued something along the line of:

"Yes you have access to US intel, but since it is impossible to prove(by providing classified info), you should not argue F-22 is the superior tactical fighter. While you know about F-22, your intel on J-20 may be inadequate."

Which in my opinion both sides were logically reasonable. Just that the back and forth lasted too long and it wore on him. I hope he is doing better now.

You are probably right about the SDF conversation since that was before I started closely following many threads here. I imagine he is a nice guy on a personal level, but for example compared to Blitzo or Deino he was not always patient and polite when it came to disagreements. He repeatedly got in trouble with reddit mods for dunking on idiots (who definitely deserved it), which might be emotionally satisfying but is not professional behavior.

I'd like to think he is doing better these days. I know he had surgery for health issues from stress and overwork. Less social media is hopefully lowering his blood pressure.

Would anyone have that video?

I am also very curious about whether anyone can share a copy of the original video which seems to have been taken down.
By the way @ClaudeJ , I stumbled upon a bunch of posts which quoted this former user (Patchwork) in the thread on PLA strike strategies in westpac HIC, which is also in the Strategic Defense subforum. You may find those to be of interest, if you don't mind combing through that thread a bit.
