Rand corporation did countless simulation on Pacific war between US and China and every time the US get their ass whoop. So I don't think China is weaker in west pacific . China own the ground in west pacific . US has to fight the tyranny of distance once those bases in Japan and Korea gone US has to bring everything from Hawaii or west coast A long supply line that has to pass the chinese missile gauntlet

American has only handful of bases in Asia and all of them are not reinforced It is not the question of weak China But about their priority China does not necessarily initiate hostilities for the sake of displacing america place in pacific China has no issue with that

Chinese priority is Taiwan and SCS cross that red like than we see war in west pacific. Sofar the red line has not been cross. you don't go to war lightly unless the China's core of interest is transgressed. China has prove it again and again in Korean and India

But if china feel that US keep annoying her with blatant interference in Hongkong and Taiwan then all bet are off Iran China strategic partnership is real and is forming they already settle the term It is up to Iranian to seal and deliver it.

China diplomatic corp are dominated by people in 60's who get their education in the west But changing of the guard is coming as these men are retiring by the drove The young diplomat has no recollection of poor and weak China they grow up in prosperity and has no inferiority complex. They can hold their own against the west
Nothing to do with pacific. US is overall more powerfull and has many cards to use. China know that, so they are deferential to US.
Old or young, China diplomatic corp is just incompetent, every time falling in the US narrative trap.

Powerful compared to what?
And what card they will exactly be using except the sanction (which is through illegal process to begin with)?
It one thing to see U.S flag floating over vessels defeating invading reality, it is other thing to keep connected to the facts on the ground.
U.S military is a big gun. But the U.S itself is a soft target. In fight/win an actual war, you need to have the experience to get hit by a bullet, endure the pain & still come out on top.
The U.S has none of it. That's why it wants to keep the trouble as far as possible from it's homeland to avoid another kent state saga.
What do you think will happen to "land of immigrants" when the shooting starts from both side?
There is a reason why U.S is overwhelmingly dependent of financial means to advance their Geo-political agenda rather than military(unless those are small countries who can't hit back).
Let's not get attached to alien defeating U.S vibe.

China just want to use again Iran to appease Trump but that will not work. China thought the trade deal will make trump to de-escalate, but Trump no longer care about the deal because he knows the deal has failed. The US negotiator Robert Lighthizer says he don’t know what the end goal is in the trade war with China and right now they want to stop an aggressive force. Now US sanctions Chinese Officials, Including Politburo Member. Trump administration plans to finalize regulations this week that will bar the U.S. government from buying goods or services from any company that uses products from five Chinese companies including Huawei, Hikvision and Dahua. Trump gov is escalating. US also plans South China Sea announcement next week. US proved ready to take pain to stop China, China not.
You actually acknowledge the strategic incoherence of US policy, because the US doesn't know what its objective is with respect to China.

China is too big for the US to stop, and China's future development is up to Chinese efforts.

  • For example, the National Science Foundation reports China spending more on technology R&D than the USA.
  • Plus China is the world's manufacturing hub, and also has the world's largest consumer retail market.
  • China also produces and also buys more smartphones than the rest of the wealthy developed world.
  • So given enough time, that combination virtually guarantees the creation of world-class Chinese technology companies in every field.

So in the long-run, the USA can accept as much pain as it wants to try and stop China.
But the US pursues masochistic policies which hurt US companies and consumers, whilst also forcing Chinese companies to develop their own world-class technologies.

It also means that the US has to escalate now, before China grows far larger than the USA.
(A wealthy hi-tech China would have an economy some 3x larger than the USA)

From the Chinese perspective, focusing on domestic economic development is a coherent and rational grand strategy.

The United States anti-China alliance scheme is moving forward. Since China doesn't care about its international relations, soon the whole developed world will be united against it.

Really? How soon? I think you need to put a date when you make crazy claims like China's market shrinking or India becoming the largest market or the whole developed world uniting against China... "soon." When there's no deadline, anything goes; I can say none of this matters because "soon," aliens will enslave the earth.

Chinese diplomacy tend to be reactive because they are weak in PR. Too much incompetence.... Old or young, China diplomatic corp is just incompetent, every time falling in the US narrative trap.
Repeating a claim that you cannot back up does not make it true. You have Chinese diplomacy confused with your debate "skills," as time and time again, you have been unable to prove this point but instead had me disprove it instead.
They are passive toward US primary because US is more powerfull. Nothing to do about "deep reserve of admiration"
Passive = working hard instead of shouting hard by your definition.

Exactly what I said before: China wins on substance but the US can appear the winner to those who only understand aggression but cannot decipher results.

Sounds like the US has an extremely incoherent strategy...
US also plans South China Sea announcement next week.
Ah hahaha, US is all talk. They made an announcement that they'll make an announcement?? LOLOL What happened, did they run out of fuel doing laps waiting for China to be intimidated? Shows how helpless they are. Know what China's doing in the SCS next week... and this week... and today? Building.
US proved ready to take pain to stop China, China not.
I can see why you think that. It's because the US is all bent out of shape trying to stop China while China is just growing improving say after day. But you are wrong; Chinese people have suffered more and are more tolerant to suffering in hard times than Americans. It's just that America's fight doesn't seem to be able to push China there yet.
Nothing to do with pacific. US is overall more powerfull and has many cards to use. China know that, so they are deferential to US.
But its cards only fail or backfire. I think this might be a game where the guy who gets rid of all his cards first wins. Or maybe all its cards are making announcements... about making announcements LOLOL
Anti-China alliance is not the issue. China lack of real IR strategy is.
Your inability to read and debate is.

I don't know what you guys think. I can across this and thought WOW! This is quite a graphic reality check. With the exception of Russia, nothing really has changed in over 120 years!

It looks like China need to get stronger to stand up to these nations who will always ganged up together. China did try to form the BRICS. But with India and Brazil leaning back to the West. One thing is certain, and that is uncertainty. "Friendship and allies" are as reliable and dependable as candle in the wind.
