Is the PL-15 some sort of variant of the PL-12? Because I cannot seem to find much information about a "PL-15" missile online.
PL-15 is rather said to be China's equivalent to the AIM-120D.
A Flanker is a Flanker is a Flanker, buuuttttttt??? that ain't NO Flanker! I could tell ya what it is, but some folks won't agree, prolly that poor baby is going no-where??? an it is a shame, but with everybody's bad attitude, I'm glad about that too???

Now, I think we have to take this with a grain of salt here... this is a rumor from a BBS, and the message is from as far back as 2008. PL-13 is another rumor that hasn't been heard outside of China. So the validity of this is highly doubtful.

Okay, I think you need to familiarize yourself with Huitong's site first. Acquaint yourself with the various missile designations, and various types of planes. There are a few mistakes and issues with phrasing on his site, as well as some out of date information here and there, but it's arguably the best place to give you perspective regarding what is BS and what isn't. Generally he is quite up to date with what is credible and what isn't.
Regarding BVR AAMs, PL-15 is the designation internet PLA watchers have given to the Pl-12 variant with cropped wings. It likely features increased range, and a variety of other improvements compared to early PL-12 variants.
PL-13 is also sometimes referred to as PL-21, and is the tentative designation for the a Meteor like ramjet powered BVR AAM.
There are no indications the PLA are actively developing a KS-172 equivalent.
Finally, you shouldn't believe everything you read on the chinese internet. Sina especially is a terrible place to go to for PLA news.

I don't, like I mentioned previously, take these information with a grain of salt. I only found those information from googling and pass that information on that's all.
Err no offense, but the article and the source you posted is not enough to simply "take with a grain of salt" -- it is not worthy of being on the table in the first place.
that is to say, there are some things on the chinese internet which should simply be directly dismissed outright. Either it is because they are very fantastical/unrealistic and fanboyish or because there is no evidence/credible rumours to back it up, or more often than not, both of those reasons.

Shall I tell you what I like about Flanker and in general Chinese aviation?
It's the fact that they don't stop progressing, the country which stops innovating falls behind, they need to continue to upgrade and develop the platforms, it's no good building a world class fighter and leaving it at that, as soon as production starts the next generation is on paper, this continues and ensures the drive for optimisation and improvement so you don't fall behind
J11D is a good example and it's not like J11B is a bad fighter, good work and good improvements on the J11B
Certainly J11D is a step ahead and they are always looking to improve and develop, a similar strategy is employed by the Americans
