Do recent reports of Chinese Su-35 contract have any credence? I'm admittedly not a big follower of the PLA, other than having some interest in the J-20. This means that it's hard for me to filter out useful info from the trash.

Think that rumour has been floating around for what...3-4 years now? Most everything we hear about it is from the Russian press, and it's always about how close China is to signing a deal. And yet here we are.

"Contract being signed soon" is why I'm skeptical. Not the first time we've heard that one.
The reason I'm bringing up the possible Su-35 deal is that the announcement came from Dimitry Rogozin, who is quite high in the Russian government. That's why I didn't feel like dismissing it right off the bat.

The reason most forum members are skeptical of the Su-35 deal news is because we've all heard the same thing over and over the last few years every few months from mainly Russian newspaper/sources that is a done deal. But it never did, and keep pushing back again and again.
The Su-35 sale news is like the boy who cried wolf syndrome for us now. Maybe is true this time, but unless the Chinese government confirms the deal is done, most of us will be skeptical at best with this Su-35 deal news.
