Thanks for clarification good job

Btw have you got some software that allows you to read blurred serials?

No, but I found a slightly larger version of the same image and if You sharpen the file + sizing up it a bit You can clearly read at least the 78x6x serial !

Re: Shenyang J-31 Fighter

Sorry to correct You (simply to be a stronger argument against "blackstone's" critics!), but to be precisely: NONE !

It's really that simple, but since years there has been not a single newly build J-11B, J-11BH, J-11BS, J-11BSH and most of all J-16 without the WS-10A Taihang !

Deino

Nevermind I misread your post. So post deleted.

Re: Shenyang J-31 Fighter

What does that mean ? That China hasn't been producing any Flankers for years ? Or that China has been producing Flankers with AL-31 engines all those years ? Doesn't the J-16 prototype we have seen in pictures use a WS-10 engine ? I was under the impression that all the new Flankers being produced were using WS-10 engines and that they are still in production. Just how many Flankers in China uses WS-10 engines ?

Only the first regiment of J11B use AL-31F which is 1st fighter division 1st regiment

All subsequent divisions use WA-10A engines

Thank you for answering, but I misread Deino's post. I thought he said that none of the new Flankers that China has build in recent years had the WS-10 engine in them.

Does anyone know how many Flankers there are in China that uses the WS-10 ?

There is 5 x PLAAF J11B/S Regiments and 3 x PLAN Regiments and of that 7 x Regiments use WS-10A engines

Each regiment has 24 x J11B and 4 x J11BS so that means a total of around 196 aircraft

Each aircraft uses two WS-10A engines so that's probably over 400 x WS-10A engines that are flying

There are not necessarily that many. Standard flanker regiments have 24 aircraft although some may get much larger to 36 like the 1st division J-11B. Also, there are mixed regiment of J-11B/S with other aircraft, so it's hard to say exactly how many there are.

standard revgiment has 20 singleseafers and 4 twin seaters?

yeah the 24 was a typo i meant 20

as tphuang mentioned there is no rigid standardized regiment inventorys but what we can say is "typically" J10 Regiments have 24 x J10A plus 4 x J10S and Flanker Regiments have again "typically" 20 x J11B plus 4 x J11BS but some are mixed and matched and 1st Regiment includes Su-27UKB
