No, it didnt.

It used the new batch of WS-10 Taihangs, inofficially dubbed to be the "Black Taihang"-series.

Rumour says that they have improved reliability and thrust, as well as corrossion resistance, which makes them suitable for the Naval Aviation Units. Though, there were also quite some few PLAAF Flankers being seen with the new Black Taihang.

Not sure why ... and even more I don't know how reliable this diagram is, esp. since some certain details like the forward strakes on/behind the seeker are missing. It reminds me on a CG I saw a few months ago.

Anyway I would love to see the complete image of that J-16 (I think it is one) in full-size !

thanks for posting siege, makes it clear how dangerous/reckless the barrel roll over a large aircraft truly is, intimidating the other side with your reckless approaches is just bad business, and very unprofessional. While I am very aware that a Flanker rolls very nicely, doing that in such close proximity to other professionals, doing their job, put them and their live at unnecessary risk, very bad for business. I have however stated that the SU-27 is very well suited for the long range patrol/intercept, and I'm quite sure the J-11 is equally well suited.

Hmmm, that's a pretty aggressive maneuver. I can't help but think that they were partly communicating how improved the PLAAF's pilots are in control and skill...

If the maneuver was sanctioned, I can't help but raise my eyebrows and incline my head in appreciation.

Nothing like a barrel role to show off represent your nation's displeasure, I suppose.
