Colonel
actually Kanwa reporter was told it was J-16, the russian also claim that it J-16,not J-11.
according to the article PLAN official was satisfied with SU-30MKK,order shenyang to reverse engineer it.

Reverse engineer Su-30MKK? I thought J-16 was J-11BS with AGM ability?

Yet more evidence of Kanwa's uselessness.

The PLANAF never got MKKs, they did get MK2s, which is different, and they did not seem particularly impressed by them since there was never any follow up orders dispite Russian sources treating such a follow-up order as a sure thing.

Yepp ... isn't this the new naval training base at Xingcheng / Huangdicun (via "franco-russe": 40 30 24 N / 120 39 21 E)

Besides that IMO think it confirms reports about several more (I somewhere read 5-6) prototypes already under test.

Yes This is a new training field they have constructed to support the carrier project.

The entire project include the building of atleast 3 new "naval air stations" , plus 3 homeports renovation/upgrade/new build. most of them is finished.

all timeline indication points to Ex-Varyag homebased in north.
two new ones in south.
