I'd like to point out that, at this point, there is no concrete evidence that the new missile is the same as the semi-ballistic AAM shown in the study. The missile could very well be an anti-radiation weapon or a completely unrelated weapon until now.

Yes that is true. However, given the geometry of the weapon in the pictures and some of the suspected features we seem to be able to see (possible ImIR seeker, possible reaction jet systems), I think it's a pretty sensible guess to suggest that the missile is probably similar in nature to the 2013 study if not directly evolved from it.

I don't think so. Production has shifted to J-15, J-16, and (soon) J-11Ds.
