Re: DF-41 Missile\

The host asked whether DF-41 would appear in the parade or not, and the deputy director from the political department of second artillery told the audience to wait and see.

In the end, DF-41 didn't appear, we only saw DF-31A.

I would have prefer if he asked if DF-41 existed at all. But then, I think that would be too much to ask

On CCTV-9, the announcer was rather ambiguous, as I recall, saying that various "intercontinental" missiles were being displayed, and said that several types existed for different purposes.

I didn't see any DF-31A, so where did you see them? What I saw was 12 DF-31 TEL's, and that was the biggest missile launcher at the parade.

well he probably meant several DF-31, and several types of missiles (ICBM, MRBM, SRBM). Of course they did only show one type of intercontinental missile

yeah, we only did get to see plain old DF-31 (something that showed in 1999 parade). No DF-41, no JL-2. Not even DF-31A. Remember that report from xinhua a month ago, saying that those missiles would show up? that goes to show that regarding PLA, we can only believe what we see.

DF-31A is simply a modified version of DF-31, they use the same chassis. It's the same idea that there are no obvious visible differences between the Russian S-300 and S-400 missile system, even though they're different systems.

That's road testing track for the vehicle, and that vehicle has appeared in many other photos as well so it's nothing new.. The cylinder looks identical for the ones housing DF-31/31A missiles, so I think they're just testing a new TEL vehicle for DF-31A, since the current TEL vehicle for DF-31A has very limited off-road capability.

If that pic was photoshopped, then this one must be as well. OR, they could be genuine pics of a new TEL for DF-31A or the TEL for DF-41. I'm thinking the two pics are very well within the realms of possibility. It's not too crazy for China to be testing a new TEL, and these two pics of TEL's are very very similar.
