There was no intention to start any Falklands/Malvinas argument other than to rebut some assertions to the 1982 historical conflict that was in my view totally unfounded.

Btw, your postings on the 1982 conflict is real cool and informative. Good job.
do not worry the problem is you can not have the Spanish version original in Spanish, specially from Argentine Sources, it is hard for you to know details if you only read English and only the English version, Mirage is a very cool and balanced man, who is interested in keeping this thread for news, remember you will have the opinion you have upon what you read or watch i can watch Argentine videos in Spanish and i more or less know their version of the events

Its ok amigos. I’m very open to a fair and open minded discussion about the war (on another thread). Personally it saddens me since Argentina and Britain are to nations that should never have gone to war. Before 1982, both nations were very close to agreeing on some type of joint administration, and today both could be benefiting from the fruits of that negotiation.

The true fault lies with the Military Junta that initiated the invasion as a distraction for the people due to their poor administration of the economy during their dictatorship. Both nations made blunders that could have cost them the war. Argentina just made more of them and the results were predictable. Those were very difficult times.

There is an excellent (very neutral and objective) episode produced by the Discovery Channel (from Spain) regarding the blunders made by both sides. I believe that there is an English version also. When I find it I will post it in the South American rivalry thread.

Happy New Year to all of you and may you all find peace, love and harmony in your respective parts of the world.

Cheers,
Miragedriver

New Bell 412 EP helicopters for the Air Force Argentina

img_0029%20copia.jpg

( defensa.com ) The head of the Ministry of Defence Argentina , Agustín Rossi, presided over the ceremony of presentation of the two Bell 412 EP helicopters purchased by the Argentina Air Force, which , according to the minister , " they demanded an investment of more than 17 million and corresponds to the policy clearly stated president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner , which aims to optimize the logistics equipment of our Armed Forces. "

The ceremony was held at the Military Sector Aeroparque . Rossi said that new aircraft will allow " strengthen performance performing Air Force rescue , transportation, community support in emergency situations and in different Antarctic jobs." The work done by helicopters is wide, because they play in Antarctic scenarios to aid scientific activities ; in humanitarian efforts for natural disasters the National Fire Management Plan , or contributing to the foreign policy of Argentina , in the service of the United Nations, where part of operations for the maintenance of peace.

The Bell 412 EP is a general-purpose twin-engine helicopter with a maximum take-off of over five thousand kilos , which has a range of three-hour flight and transported to a pilot, co-pilot and up to thirteen passengers. However, we have observed that these new helicopters lack rescue hoist , inside suitable for medical or evacuation flights and have no FLIR or shielding the pilot seats . So it would seem obvious that form part of the constellation of aircraft used to transport officials and their families , other purchase at all operating in the military .

Attended by the Chief of Joint Staff of the Armed Forces , Lieutenant General Luis Maria Carena ; Chief of the Air Force, Brigadier General Mario Callejo ; Secretary of Science, Technology and Defence Production , Santiago Rodriguez and the director of the Defense Logistics Agency , Lucia Kersul , among other authorities
