Integrity of immigration system at risk as international student numbers balloon, minister says

Social Sharing

Marc Miller says around 900,000 students will enter Canada this year

Canada is on track to welcome around 900,000 international students this year, Miller said in an interview that aired Saturday on CBC's The House. That's more than at any point in Canada's history and roughly triple the number of students who entered the country a decade ago.
Canada will soon be the third Anglo country conquered by Indians, Jai Hind. Can people from down under chime in, whats the progress of the Indian Invasion?

Hard to say - I believe Melbourne has seen the most Indian immigration, however Sydney has seen an increase as well.
In Sydney, they (generally) stick to their own communities, i.e. several key suburbs out west, however they are slowly expanding outwards. They generally keep to themselves and don't cause much trouble.

There are more than a few anecdotal issues of fraud and scamming, such as scamming university fees by paying first with credit card and then advising the credit provider to halt the payment, resulting in said universities banning credit card tuition payments.

Occasionally you get frauds / Jai Hinds in key company positions, however the flip side is, if it is a well run organization the JH's don't last long, but usually not before they cause some kind of damage, e.g. unfairly awarding contracts to sub-standard Indian IT service providers.

Occasionally you get a 'bad' family move in somewhere close; they are at worst a nuisance, e.g. constantly noisy, littering, behaving as if they're still living in a village etc., however, not malicious.

Trudeau accuses India's government of involvement in killing of Canadian Sikh leader

Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed in B.C. in June

"Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the Government of India and the killing of a Canadian citizen, Hardeep Singh Nijjar," Trudeau said Monday in a speech to the House of Commons.

"Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty. It is contrary to the fundamental rules by which free, open and democratic societies conduct themselves.

"As you would expect, we have been working closely and coordinating with our allies on this very serious matter."

A senior government source told CBC News that Trudeau has briefed the leaders of some of Canada's closest allies about the case, including U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron and U.S. President Joe Biden.

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly said she has ordered the expulsion of "a senior Indian diplomat."

Joly's office said that diplomat is Pavan Kumar Rai, the head of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India's foreign intelligence agency, in Canada.

In his own speech, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh blasted the Indian government under Modi, a Hindu.

Singh said the Modi-led government has been "one of division, violence, persecution" with a known pattern of "attacking those who are critical" of its actions.

Singh said he'd use "every tool" at his disposal to "bring those responsible to justice."

"We will ensure that no rock is unturned, that every possible link is examined," Singh said.

He said that the public inquiry into foreign interference, which was prompted by allegations of Chinese meddling, should also look at India and its actions in Canada.
NDP has my vote in the next election :p

Protip: Stay away from India-Canada direct flights for a while.

The expel the head of the agency they believe responsible for an assassination, yet they detain the head of a corporation they suspect of violating economic sanctions?
If I’m not mistaken, which I may, very well, be, diplomatic immunity doesn’t cover murder!

Anthony Rota resigns as Speaker after inviting former Ukrainian soldier with Nazi ties to Parliament

Rota lost support of key Liberal ministers on Tuesday

Liberal MP Anthony Rota is stepping down as House of Commons Speaker after inviting a Ukrainian veteran who fought in a Nazi division to Parliament — a dramatic turn of events that will be welcomed by MPs on all sides who said the embarrassing incident was unforgivable.
The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre (FSWC), a Jewish rights group, said Rota's action "compromised all 338 MPs" and "handed a propaganda victory to Russia."

The FSWC is also calling on the Commons' Procedure and House Affairs Committee (PROC) to hold public hearings, investigate what took place and examine "vetting process failures."

B'nai Brith, another Jewish group, said the government must make the

I guess this is where Jews draw the line, you can't give original Nazis stand ovations in government.

Jokes aside, I'm glad there's still some semblance of a moral compass here. I honestly thought they find it perfectly acceptable to clap for a Nazi like water park seals because he's Ukrainian.
