Can you have this argument in the turkey thread?

And if you are going to say something is misrepresented, you need to give proof.

He is correct, I made a mistake - in his original post he claimed the Hurjet could be operational in 2025 and a carrier capable variant could be ready after 2030 ... I apologise, but neither is this proof for my bias nor a deliberate misreading, it is simply a stupid mistake.

I re-read the thread, despite needing to my complete my PhD dissertation (mediating an internet flame-war is more important!)

For all you guys, this is TLDR: sequ is challenging why everyone is so pessimistic on Turkey MIC ambitions, while Deino is saying sequ is propagating high-nationalist propaganda.

Some very hilarious back-and-forth examples:

A lot can go wrong when you're making remotely controlled drones now, and plan for carrier-borne 5th gen fighters with autonomous naval drones by the end of this decade.....
A lot can go wrong but why would it?.... If the goal is a carrier capable aircraft for both the Hurjet and TF-X, then the in-between step is a normal variant right? The same is for drones. ...
"A lot can go wrong but why would it?"

- No engineer, ever.

and this beauty:

So do please spell it out for us - what do TAI and Baykar know here that Boeing doesn't?
Not hiring 9$ per hour Indian programmers.

and this beauty:
I'm wondering when one will go from constantly hopping between the denial, anger and bargaining phase into the depression phase?

When the first prototype of the Hurjet rolls out we are going to hear "but can it take-off?"
When the Hurjet takes off we'll hear "but can it break the sound barrier?"
When it breaks the soundbarrier we'll hear "but can it land on a carrier?"
And when it lands on a carrier we'll hear "but can Turkey make a 5th gen fighter?"

The cycle will never end.

You are like an INDIAN ;) ... all I hear is "WHEN"!

In conclusion, India got loser of this thread. India gets destroyed even in a Turkey thread.

I'm pretty sure Indian engineers get paid a lot less than $9 a hour, more like $9 a day. Turkey is also not known for the quality of their programmers or engineers.

I have worked with hundreds of engineers, haven't met a Turk yet. A lot of Persians, Indians and Chinese.

Its not the opinion itself he is entitled to, it but it's the way he acts juvenile in the thread and outright dismissing everything as a fantasy. It ruins the atmosphere in the thread drastically.
Dismissing something as an outright fantasy is an opinion. He isn't the only one who's expressed a similar opinion.

You can believe whatever you want about the Turkish military and MIC, don't expect everyone else here to.

He is ruining the atmosphere in this otherwise productive thread. His juvenile behavior is moderator unworthy @WebMaster @T-U-P @Bltizo @siegecrossbow @Jeff Head please take action against @Deino.

He has severe issues and is heavily biased towards anything to do with the Turkish MIC.

Honestly bro, Deino isn't the problem here. There are geopolitical issues involved which always add their own 'atmosphere' to such country-based threads. This can't be avoided. I usually defend Turkey when I see anti-Turk ranting, so I've noticed it too. But it's a very mild issue. (The hostility we show in Indian or US threads is far more hostile lolz.) Most members here are political and lines are clearly drawn in the sand.

The actual problem though, is that Turkey is kind of sitting in the middle of those geopolitical lines, which is an awkward place to be. Here are some examples: If one day, Turkey is bashing Israel, and the next they're having coffee, or when Turkey is running to join the EU one day, and then cursing Germany the next, or signing up for the F-35 one day, and then buying S-400s the next.. or talking about Xinjiang one day and trying to improve relations with China the next etc. etc. This complicates things... Since you're in the middle of No-Man's Land, you're just gonna have to deal with shelling from both sides. That's just how it works. And I bet you'll see the same thing happening if you went on a US-defense forum (in fact, it will probably be a lot worse.)

Look, I know that many of us members here would definitely duke it out with a person with his type of extreme political views. However, to mock a person who may have just passed away is extremely low, no matter how much you despise him. As a matter of fact, I respect him for putting aside his biases to professionally judge the PLAN unlike the many other "analysts" who writes "articles" in the most blatantly political and laughable way.

Anyone who posts their opinions online is worthy of scrutiny, even if it hurts your feelings.

That's the point of Sepu vs. Deino thread, these are only opinions, and we are free to express our opinions that Jeff Head is a radical white Trump supporter who is half-brain dead due to cancer therapy treatment.... if facts hurt your feelings, so be it. It's still freedom of speech.

As far as I can see Deino was participating in the thread as a member of the forum and not in his moderator role in any unreasonable capacity, so I don't see how you can reasonably argue that his posts are of any sort of concern.

If you think his arguments are invalid then you are free to try and counter his arguments with better points.
But if you cannot, then you'll just have to accept you fundamentally have different views that cannot be reconciled.
