I would say the likely reason is large unspent stocks of older missiles. Most of the time these are used in patrol missions but there is little expectation of realistic fighting against a near peer air force because most of those have nuclear weapons...

Unrelated to PLA questions, but what is the point of using child soldiers?

Aside from the moral problems, wouldn’t there be a huge training deficiency? How would you train a 9 yr old to effectively fight in modern war? Surely it would be even more expensive than training a normal soldier?

If they are relegated to non combat positions, what sort of advantage do they offer over adults? I imagine say a seasoned electronics operator would be far more effective and calmer under fire compared to a child told which buttons to press?

Chances are, wouldn’t child soldiers just forget how to operate equipment in the heat of battle?

Well these are just guesses. But. You have to see that in countries which use child soldiers typically the average age of citizens is lower and life expectancy is lower as well.
This is typically the case in African nations.

So part of it is because of the availability (or lack of) of enough adults to do the fighting.
Quite often also child soldiers are basically sold by their parents. They are thus basically combat slaves for the most part and hence cheaper to employ than adults.

However do not expect to see a lot of kids aged 9. Most likely these are teenagers or older than that. Children who are too young cannot carry much of a combat load.

I don't read Cyrillic so I have no clue. Just what is this? Can you post this chart in English? Thank you.

bassically it compares radars of different fighter aircrafts. You may want to use the application google translate, to translate effectively what is written.

@Tam , maybe you can help me understand how the russian H-035 has the double of the APG-77 while being actually significantly worse.

Quick question, the Type 45, without major structural work, would it be possible to add CAMM launchers to the ship in order to increase its potency?

Please forgive the crappy drawing - just wanted to show my thoughts better than I could write them down.

Not sure if you just like trolling me? Or you engage keyboard before brain.

If you looked at my drawing properly, its on top of the hangar - almost flush with the engine exhaust.. That exhaust stack is about 3.9m tall. Camm is 3.2m long and soft launch so shouldn't impact on the hangar.
